I've been really sleeping pretty bad for the past week or so now, I keep waking up and am finding it really hard to get back to sleep but also I dno't think I'm getting enough deep sleep time as I dream alot and feel almost lucid. But another thing is I wake up often completely broken out in a sweat, it is horrible! Is this normal in pregnancy/2nd trimester? I've been to the doctors SO much with little worries, they have to be sick of me now! lol!

Hi I have had trouble sleeping since I was about 5 weeks pregnant! It sorts itself out for a week then it's back again, last night I felt so frustrated with myself for not sleeping, as I feel awful in the day. I have read loads about it, and some experts say it's the hormones, some say it is to get us used to sleepless nights, and some say it is the metabolism of the baby that effects our sleeping. We do also sweat more, another lovely pregnancy symptom, so I wouldn't worry about that. I wish I knew how to help! Hopefully someone else will have an idea xx

I too have had trouble sleeping since the early days. It's completely taken me aback because I could have slept the entire 9 months away with DS but this time I'm lucky to get more than an hour or two unbroken. I'm constantly shattered :(

My dreams (when I sleep long enough to have them!) are incredibly vivid and altogether weird lately too.

I dont sleep too well either. Everything aches if im in one position too long. I can stay on one side for about an hour then im fully awake in terrible pain and i move onto the other side then the same thing happens again. Not to mention the really weird dreams. I cant even remember then 5 minutes later. Still, go to your doctor if you feel you need to. I went this week (the doctor gave the wrong advice!) but she did say to come in as many times in a week as i feel like even if they do have to keep repeating the same things to me shes happy to do it.

I am going to sound so gross now but i don't care
I was asleep last night and woke up with a bead of sweat going down my back like tears, I am usually hot in my sleep (probably because i mummify myself in the quilt:dohh:) but never sweat like this, I also wake up in the middle of the night quite allot these days too, its nice to know i am not alone.

Even though it's become cooler here too, I'm still only using a sheet or nothing with my thinnest nightie, when sleeping. If DH accidentally throws the duvet over me, I will wake up because I'm soooo hot. I'm still having the ceiling fan on too.

I am not sleeping well at all either! Only for the last 2/3 weeks but any noise wakes me up including my husbands snoring! I have slowly started moving into the nursery. I am so tierd and going to try a walk before to see if that helps!

I hope it's short lived for you guys!

I wasn't sleeping most of last week. By Friday I was so delirious I wasn't functioning too well and finally somehow fell asleep that night. It started again this Tuesday, but I think I was still so exhausted from last week that my body managed to overcome the wakefulness at night. Now it takes about 15 minutes to get back to sleep after a washroom break, but at least I am sleeping for most of the night.

But I have no real clue what helped. I know the only way I can fall asleep at the beginning is to stop trying to feel baby move (hahaha) and to imagine looking far into the distance at a beach at night to relax my facial muscles. But sleeping after washroom breaks have been pure luck this week.

I'm always cold when I get in bed and then I'm woken in a sweat sheen as well. I know I don't sleep too great because of my SPD but the night sweats are freaky as I'm usually the ice block in bed! :haha: Seems to be pretty normal though as body temp during the day is not usually an issue.

Aw I'm the same too, can't get comfy in my bed anymore & sleep for a bit then wake up about 1ish & can't sleep again. Had to take a half day today as was actually nodding off at my desk! Xxx
