I have discovered by BBT charting for many months that I have a luteal phase of 9 days. This is one, among many of our fertility issues. We've just stopped seeing a fertility specialist because Of the stress it was putting us under. We are Ttc #2, so I am confiden that it is possible. I tried something new this month for my short luteal phase THAT WORKED, so I figured I'd pass it along. In addition to taking my prenatal vitamin every day, I also took 50mg of vitamin B6, because I have read that it can increase a short LP. Well the very first month my LP increased from 9 days to 12 days! Wow!!! No more goopy, expensive, nasty progesterone cream for me! Give it a shot, maybe it can help someone else too!

I used Vitamin B Complex 100mg (100mg of ALL B vits) and extended my LP from 9 to 13 days too.

I recommend a complex rather than just B6 as a single vit can cause an imbalance of the others which can have some side effects (i did lots of reading before taking it lol)

Thanks for this I'm going to try for sure! Should I start taking at the start of next AF?

I took mine from CD1 and took it every day! GL!

just happened to come across this. I too have a short LP - i think it was 8 days. do you know if you can take vit b with metformin?

did you guys take B6 on top of your prenatal vitamins? I'm on pregvit and it already has all kinds of B vitamins, so I don't want to overdo it :)

I did take B6 on top of my prenatal vitamin. I think my prenatal vitamin only has two or 3 mg of vitamin B6. The B6 supplement is 50 mg. I've read that it's safe to take 50-100mg of b6, So because I was already taking the prenatal vitamin, I didn't want to overdo it either. That's why I took 50 mg instead of 100 mg.

So this month, I decided to up my b6 from 50mg (plus 2.5mg in my prenatal vitamin) to 75mg plus the 2.5 from my vitamin. I did this because my typical LP is 9 days- since I have taken b6 my LP was 12 days the first month then 10 days the second month. I do have the B complex in my prenatal vitamin so I'm not worried about absorption. I'm hoping this is my month for a bpf, but if not, I'm hoping my Lp will be at least 12 days, giving my possible little baby bean time to implant! This is the 11th month of trying for us... Good luck ladies!
