I started taking B12 vitamins because I am a vegan. I also thought that they would help with TTC. I kind of have a short LP (11d). I thought that either one of the vitamins would help lengthen it, but I think I might be wrong...any suggestions?:help:

I tried taking it for spotting and i didn't see a change in anything : ( Was on it for 4 months..

I have read that B6 is supposed to help lengthen the luteal phase, but that you really should take a b-complex supplement, because it's important to get the b vitamins in balance with one another. I'm taking a 100mg b-complex this month to stretch out my lp as well! If you search the forums for "B6" or "luteal phase" you'll find lots and lots of information. Good luck!

My doctor told me that B6 lowers the amount of prolactin in the system. In excessive amounts, prolactin interferes with with ovulation and the regulation of cycles. B-12 is not helpful in lengthening the luteal phase. I was also told that in order for the B6 to be beneficial it needs to be taken with other b vitamins, so I take it in a complex. I took just 65 mg. and my luteal phase went from 7-8 days to 12, then 13, and now 14 days in the 3 months I've taken it. Highly recommended! Forgive me for sounding ignorant, but why is B6 not vegan?

I think they do have a vegan one out there, I just didn't know which one to take. The girl at the vitamin store suggested the B12, so I took it. That is a nice increase in your LP littlebird. I think I'll try to take a b complex instead of just one or the other. Hopefully I'll see an increase as well, I think that is why we have had trouble TTC.

Yeah, I was pretty shocked with the increase! I think that's why we didn't have any luck the first 2 months, too. Now im still ovulating late. :/ Give it a try, I bet you'll have luck, too! :) Nothing to lose, the b vitamins have made me feel better overall. I'll ask my friends about a vegan option! Most of them are vegan and all have babies (of course!)
