I went for my 41 week scan and my babies femur is measuring 6mm smaller than his feet?? Femur is in average range 80mm. His estimated weight is 8.5lbs!

Induction tues and haven't ever lost plug :( someone tell me it's all
gonna be ok

what?? Am I reading this correctly? At 41 weeks, baby's femur is smaller than baby's foot? Either the tech can't measure or baby has really short femurs. Was the dr concerned, at all, that the longest bone is the body is smaller than the foot? Sounds hinky to me.

I dont understand how the femur can be shorter than the foot. Do you have your scan results there to read from?

Yep it says his femur is 80 and she said his foot was 86mm, she even followed it up by saying it was roughly 3.5inches so I know I didn't mishear her! She said his feet looked huge! Does anyone know the regular length of a newborns foot?

That doesn't sound right. Do you have any newborn sleepsuits? Have a loot at the size of the feet and the length of the leg on them, the leg is a lot longer.

I think about 3.25" is average for the average size baby. Seeing as scans are really not accurate, I would *try* not to worry. I still don't see how a foot could be longer than a femur, though.

I’m experiencing this right now where they have measured the baby’s foot at 62.2mm and femur at 54.1mm how is that possible. Does anyone have an explanation. This is the only post I can find on the internet. 32 weeks 5 days.
