Absolutely not! I feel bad for those little girls!

Personally no I wouldn't. If my girls aren't good enough to win anything looking 100% natural and themselves then I wouldn't want them to win. To me they're perfect and that's all that matters.

I'm not the type that would enter them in beauty pagents etc anyway though. If when they were older they wanted to enter into things themselves then I'd support them 100% but still encourage them to be natural.

I don't have anything against parents that do though.

No i wouldnt. I think there is nothing wrong with a little dress up, but those mums put so much pressure on those little girls! They have to do everything perfectly, and practice even when they've had enough. Its not fair on them. And imagine what they feel like when they dont win- it means that another little girl is prettier than them. I would never want my baby to feel like that. I think in a lot of cases its the mothers lost dream and she is somehow living it through her child.

Also it sexualises them- they have fake tan, fake hair, fake lashes, eyebrows waxed. They look like mini-adults instead of children. And those dresses cost like $1000 a pop! I couldnt afford it even if i wanted to!

I think it is beautiful and cute when a baby girl looks like a baby girl and not a little adult. Xxx

I would if she wanted to. I do not like the full glitz, I think the fake teeth for kids thing is OTT! So many moms on that show say their kids love it but you can can they really do not, and the amount of pageants they do- those poor little girls are losing their childhood! When they aren't doing pageants they are practicing. I almost lost it when I saw the toddler working out... Saying she looked chubby. WTF

If Cadence wanted to do a pageant, we would get her a pretty dress, some lip gloss and maybe a little blush and do a local pageant, I wouldn't put her in a glitz pageant like TNT - I'm not willing to put her through all that. There is no way! She is beautiful without all that fake stuff.

Not all pageants are like that, we would definitely not do those kind. The local school ones are much more focused on talent and you actually have to have the grades to get in them!

I have a very love hate relationship with this show... I like to watch the show, I do think the girls look so so cute all dressed up. But it is really OTT... Those parents on the show need slapping imo :/ majority of the kids clearly don't want to be doing it

XxX

I dont have a little girl, but no I wouldnt - cannot see the point personally. We all think our children are the most beautiful little beings on the plant but to me, by entering your children continuously into pageant after pageant is almost like sending them to work. They are forced into acting, talking, singing a certain way wearing some quite creative things really. I think local little shows as a one off if a child wants to do them (shows an interest) is great. I was very much a tomboy growing up (I now wear fake tan, lashes, too much make up and whatever when I get the chance), although I did have some sparkly high tops that were too cool for school, but I want my children to play, pick up mud, climb trees and experience everything, they can put make up on when they are older if they choose too.

I really believe most of these types of things are for the mum rather than the child, so it is where you draw a line.

If someone wanted to do it, then go for it, but personally no I wouldnt for the reasons above.

xx

I would but only if my daughter wanted to do it and specifically asked. So it wouldn't ever be while she was a baby or toddler! I feel so sorry for the poor little things who are clearly pushed into it and brainwashed into thinking its what they want!

I can't imagine in a million years that my little girl would ever be interested in anything like that though, hehe, so don't think i need to worry :)

Absolutly not. I am sorry it sits uncomfortable with me when babies/toddlers are are dressed like mini adults and pushed into it by parents. Have you seen the attitudes of both the parents and the kids on theses shows?

Nope defiantly not I watch arch the program don't no why any parent would do that to there child like spray tanning them :( so wrong

Hell no! Those mothers are crazy putting them in those outfits, makeup, tanning, flippers etc

Not a chance. I am going to raise my children to value intellect and kindness and could never invite people to judge them on the way they look.

Exactly this xx

Aren't those flippers horrible!? Makes me kind of sick to my tummy, what a great thing to teach a young girl. You aren't beautiful how you are, let's cover you up!

Oh deff most kids on this programme turn out awful as people, for example i was watching it yesterday and the little girl said " i think i will win the ultamite cos im better than the other girls im more pretty" YUK HOW BIG HEADED FOR A 7YR OLD GIRL!

Alot of these girls are too young to even understand, and you can tell the girls in the age off 2-5 dont even want to really be there, they cry having to be sprayed tanned, have there eye make up done, having fake hair all pinned on and i truly feel so sorry for them!

The girls what are aged 7 upwards may want to be in it to win it but only cos they dont know any difference and were pushed into it at such a young age!

I was so shocked when i first watched it, i thought to myself some off these girls look just as glammed up as adult porn stars!

I think i enjoy watching the mums the most, watching them have to bribe there children with gifts and presents, watching them pulling stupid pouts and faces at there child when there on stage also i like watching them dancing to the dance routine in the audience cos there child may have forgotten half there steps!
The mums get so competitive i think thats what makes the programme a success!

I think that these children will depend so much on there LOOKS in the future that it will ruin them, they will need constant attention!

I done this thread cos i wanted to see if anyone would attend these contests and why cos i still dont really get it myself tho i do enjoy watching the show!

It's disgusting. I won't even watch the show. Infuriates me so much. Poor children.

I was shocked when I first saw it. Little girls only have a small amount of time to be children and not care about looks before getting older and realizing the world thinks we all should be beauty queens

Hell no.

There is no way I would buy my child fake teeth, spray tan, fake eye lashes, ect. Most of the time before the shows while they're getting ready the kids look like they are miserable! Plus they have to practice their routines a ridiculous amount of time a week. Where is their childhood?!

One of the moms on there gives her little girl (6 or 7) Mt.Dew mixed with Redbull so she is hyper before the shows!
