Baby Bugs Due February 2013

Eep. I'm going back for 30 hours a week. Too much?

Jem, we're going to this restaurant: https://www.pinocchioscanterbury.com/index.html

It's lovely, and has really good reviews on TripAdvisor. :D

you do what you have to do to make things work for your family I think :hugs:

You plan on TTC this year right? So you wont be back for THAT long.

I'm going back 3 days a week. Think 9-7 Wednesday 8.30-5thursday and 8.30-4 Friday. Think I will be back in November :( Really dont want to go back but will have to. Under sooooo much pressure from work!!

There quite nice hours Lindy.

Mrs, it depends on the 30 hours being over how many days?
And hours...
I do 28.5 and that's 9:30 till 7am

But before I did two 12 hour days and it was horrid coz I didn't see the girls at all.
You could always go back and decrease I guess?
So hard to do and know what's right xx

I go back 7th of September but have some leave so officially back in oct! Eek!
My first keep in touch day is on Friday 830-1 so lush hours but nervous so many things change in our place its hard to keep up! Then next one is on Tuesday with a specialist critical care nurse and I'm wetting it! wha happens if my baby brain won't let me remember! :haha:

Lindy I no you don't want to go back so early and I remember crying last time I went back but once there it's fine and nice having some conversations about something else other than when your lo pooped etc! I actually enjoyed eating a meal and going to toilet alone something that never happens at home!:haha:

Jem your hours sound nice I used to do three weeks of nights when ollie was small but once he dropped naps it got too hard and I was a grot bag most of the time, will probably do them again when he starts pre school as feebs will nap better x

Did you do them together or separate?
Critical care sounds interesting!
Do you and your husband work opposite shifts to cover the childcare? X

Smiley, you have sooooo much going on, I hope your get to stay at home- if that's a possibility? X

Yep me and Dh work opposite he works long days and I work shorts which have changed to 6.5 hour shifts so lovely!

Jem I saw on fb you want to train to be midwife? When do your think you will start? I want to do something more now but going to wait a little until phoebe 2 ish can't have much more on plate right now!

Well I am planning on doing the access course from home as I can't quite get enough childcare cover to go to college and work.
The nursery that the girls go to offer two and a half days and if mil is still offering to help two days a week- I guess I could go when Ruby is three?
I wish I had known what I wanted all those years ago.
A friend at college with me, did the NNEB and went straight to uni to do Nursing which back then was all the qualification you needed!

I'm thinking I may do my nursing first and hopefully go onto midwifery... With my job I think I've got more chance of getting into nursing rather than the limited spaces for midwifery? (I love the thought of nursing too)

What do you think you might like to do?

I'm also looking out for jobs for either a nursery nurse on the maternity ward, so helping mums or looking after the babies in the special care ward- a position come up in Jan and I was gutted coz obviously about to give birth! Xx

Sounds good jem you should defiantly do it when you can:thumbup: it's an intense degree but as 50% practice not too bad!

I don't know exactly what I have been looking into health visiting which is a year top up I have had a shocking experience with them so that interests me a lot but I will see I hope going back to work helps me to figure out what I want to do long term and progress up a bit.

I really hope so Jem, Im not sure at the minute!

30 hours over 4 days, Jem. 7.5 hours a day (unless they put me on nights).

I did my nursing with the intent of going into midwifery. :) I still probably will, after I finish having babies. :D

The problem I found with midwifery was too many people apply for the jobs! I stepped down with my hpcn work as it was too much! Im at home for the the foreseeable due to m but might help in the school with J. X

Yeah, I applied for midwifery in 2008 and there were literally 30 spaces for the course at my nearest uni campus - 60 places overall for the course. Needless to say, I didn't get in!

That's why I think nursing may be the best opportunity? X

Evening ladies!

I'd say nursing is right way to do I think a midwife with experience in nursing is much more aware of other health problems we often get phone calls from midwives to do ECG or advice on long term conditions! Also you might find something you like within nursing that takes your fancy?

Mrs when are you returning to work?

My midwife was doing interviews and said it is so competitive. It's nuts its so hard to get into when there is such a shortage. I agree medical knowledge would make a better midwife. Should ideally be after nursing do they pick up on emergencies etc.

I'm gutted. One of my dental nurses has resigned today. Tried everything to keep her. I am in the process of buying my partner out. He wanted to give everybody a pay rise, but extra to his favourites. I feel it should be performance based so basically agreed to wait till I take over. Nurse who resigned found out due to a cock up a new nurse was on more than her so went for an interview got offered an amazing deal, £2 per hour more than she gets. Told her rise she would get but not close to what they can pay. She was crying. I'm gutted and feel a failure. Now another nurse has been on wanting to drop hours because her little boy is having behavioural problems and my senior nurse has said the practice manager is upsetting everybody by letting her favourites get away with murder. STRESS!!!!!!!!

I shall try and find you lindy, I'm carly reed if you get an add x

Hope your work situation improves x
