I've been thinking about getting a baby carrier. Partly for wear around the house and for bonding, as well as potentially for when we walk the dog, OH can carry him rather than attempt to push a buggy (although I'm not sure about this yet).

Are they worth it? If so, which one? Prices vary SO much. I've been offered one for a couple of quid but then you can buy brand new super duper ones that seem to cost a small fortune.

What are your thoughts? Have you got one? Have you used one before?

I'm in baby carrier limbo :dohh:

Tbh. I never used mine, seemed like a good idea at the time but never used it :/

I loved my carrier It was a Snuggli...In the front..I used it everyday til she was 1...It was my best friend:)

How funny - I just posted on a similar thread in Baby Club earlier! Get yourself into Natural Parenting section. There are loads of threads with carriers reviews and information over there. But be warned - it's a highly addictive and potentially expensive hobby!

My favourite is a Moby Wrap and wish I'd had it from when April was first born rather than waiting until she was 12 weeks.

i'm definately gettin a baby carrier!!
will make my life much easier... but i can't afford a decent one... infact i'm whackin it on my littlewoods account so depends what they sell!
xx

I've bought a Moby and have been practising tying it using a stuffed toy Eyore!!! They look so complicated at first as they are just a mega long piece of fabric but I really think I'm going to get loads of use out of it, both for breastfeeding and carrying around the house and out and about.

I had a sleepy wrap and an ultimate baby wrap for my youngest and I think we'd have gone insane without them! She was a poorly baby and was sooooo grumpy she had to be carried or held ALL the time. I would pop her in the wrap and she would fall asleep within 5-10 mins and I still had my hands free to get on with other things. It was great for going grocery shopping too as I had my then near 2 yr old in a trolley and baby in the wrap and managed to shop without any hassle. She ALWAYS fell asleep in the wrap which was fantastic for me! I'm making my own this time as we got rid of all our baby things. They are mega expensive to buy, yet soooo simple to make :flower:

THey are MEGA easy to make, all you need is a pair of scissors, a few metres of jersey cotton and voila you have 2 or 3 baby wraps for around £20!!!! :)
