So, I never carried my first LO.

My 2nd is arriving next week!!!!

I have already picked up a Close Parent Carrier.

It will be cold here, in Scotland, over the winter, so for the first few months at least when LO is born.

Would you have LO in a snow/pramsuit - a padded/fluffy cosy all-in-one- or would that just be too warm??

If you are out walking and its only about 10 degrees, what would you put baby in??

Is it possible to even wear the Close Carrier with a baby in a all-in-one padded suit??:flower:

I live in Canada and it gets really cold here! I used to carry my LO in the carrier and dress him in a snowsuit (with mits) and hat when it was really cold. Your body warmth will help to keep the baby warm as well.

i used to put A in a pair of babylegs under her usual outfit plus booties and then just wore a big coat so that i could zip it around her (i must have looked like a womble with two heads but she was a nice temperature :haha:

last winter, i had bella in the moby (similar to the close carrier) & a pramsuit with her normal clothes underneath. she seemed fine like this, never too hot :)
xx

I would count the wrap as an extra blanket. I did put Isla in a snowsuit underneath when it was really cold. She wasn't too hot in it, she seems nice and snug and warm.

definitely count the wrap as an extra blanket, if its really cold i do the same with teh coat and just wrap it around us both, make sure he has hat/gloves on and warm trousers, unless you'll be tucking them in

a snowsuit would definitely be too much

I don't put LO in a normal snow/pramsuit as she gets too warm (and my older LO did even when it was snowy too). Instead I get those two-part pramsuits, so a pair of thick trousers with feet and a coat with a hood and leave the top unfastened. Then I can take off the coat easily without taking her out, when it gets too warm. M&S often have them. M&S also have what I think are supposed to be PJ bottoms that are made of cotton velour I think. They have feet so I have some to pop on LO over her sleepsuit when it's a bit chilly, and she wears a cardie on her top half, plus hood or hat. This is for a legs out carrier, where legs and feet can get chilly.

10 degrees? is scotland having a heat wave this winter?????? it's never that blaming warm when i'm there!

be interested to see the replies as i am also wondering this, both for use here and back in NI (were its usually sitting about freezing all winter)

also if your like me it may be -10 but i have a t shirt on for walking, i cannot have a hoody/coat etc etc as i over heat, so i think my LO will need the pramsuit

I put Isla in her pramsuit when I'm carrying her in the mei tai. She definitely isn't too warm.
It's quite cold here though.

Ahhh. Never thought.
I do it with the wrap I bought off Victoria the slinglady too but that material is quite thin compared to other wraps I think.

when i wrap aswell i tend to do fwcc so thats 3 layers and then coat over the top, mei tai is just one layer isnt it so the baby would need more x

Last winter I had LO in a vest, babygrow, hat, then the sling and my coat round us both. He was never too cold. I wouldn't have put him in a pramsuit in the sling though - prams are cold, but I'm not, and he's strapped to me! I generally went by the rule that he'd tell me if it was too cold. I always took a couple of extra layers out just in case, but never needed them.
