hi mummies
just wondered where you shop for baby clothes?
i have no desire to dress in designer nor spend too much, so just wondered if you buy supermarket clothes and whether they are good quality after a few washes and whether they last?

cant really justify spending loads of money on clothes when im going to be on smp, so going to try and scrimp and save a bit

thanks mummies :)

I get most of mine from Asda and Sainsburys I think they are decent quality for the money and for the short amount of time they wear them before they outgrow them!

For how long they're in them before they grow out of things, I don't see the need in expensive clothes. Some things I buy, she never gets chance to wear!

I find all the supermarkets are good quality for how much you pay for them, even after quite a few washes, they're still going strong. Matalan is another good store for us.

I think that sainsburys are not bad at all. I love ther basic sleepsuits and vests, shirts and pants. I bought tesco and asda as well and I think that the quality is much better at sainsburys.

I've found matalan, asda and sainsburys all good for clothes! I've also just discovered the bargains you can get on eBay! I've just bought 6 bundles of clothes from different people all totally to about 60 quid and I've managed to get loads! They're all second hand but are mothercare, mamas and papas and m&s and since having a baby I've realised just what a short amount of time they stay in each size so I'm sure they havent had that much wear!

yes theyre fine. i dont think theyre as good as gap, next, m&s etc but theyre good value for money.

I was told tesco were great and bought loads there, i found them good but they shrink badly when frequently tumble dried. their blankets were great though

I have no problems with supermarket baby clothes (yet! Only 1 week in lol) I also have lot from m and s and they seem very good too!

Tesco clothes ARE nice in my opinion, much nicer than Asda and Sainsburys from my experience, they last an age and they wash well.

Sainsburys is the best of the supermarkets for baby clothes in my opinion, the sizes are true and they washing brilliantly x

The other thing to do is to buy clothes in the next size up in the sales. I really like Boots sleep suits and vests but they're pretty expensive. So in the January sales I bought Emily a whole load of clothes in 3-6 months at half price or less!

xxoo

another place that does gd baby clothes on a budget is h&m i love there baby clothes. asda are pretty gd too

I've used all in the past and haven't had any major problems. The big difference between each is sizing! Maci is 8lbs 8.5oz and is wearing clothes for early babies atm, asda's smallest size is way too big. Quality wise, I find that asda and tesco all wash very well and don't fade. Sainburies I found a few times went a little bobbly :)

Primark is budgety but I don't think the quality for babies is amazing, their toddler stuff I find to be great though. I also love H&M, nice prices and gorgeous stuff!

We don't have a sainsbury near me, so can't comment on theirs, but I get a lot from ASDA and Tesco. ASDA near me have a better range, but Tesco does seem to wash/wear a little better. In saying that, we've got Pud loads of leggings/t-shirts sets from ASDA for when she's crawling around at nursery!

I like ASDA's stuff ... an they do a lot of Disney shop stuff for A LOT cheaper than The Disney shop :hehe:

They are all fine; having bought clothing from Sainsbury's for years for the kids I can say that in the past couple of years the quality has gone down quite a bit-they are using thinner material than before and their t-shirts etc develop holes fairly easily. On the other side of the coin I have found ASDA's quality has drastically improved over the past 2-3 years, though on their sleepsuits the gaps between the poppers is too big and so the legs gape open and babies can get their feet coming out through the gaps xx

I got lots of clothes from Gap, all in the sale, didnt pay more than £4.25 on an item. Most bits were £1.99! Great quality and it's all washed really well. Will keep for baby number 2.

Also got loads of bargains off Ebay. If you keep an eye out you can catch some great bargains. I got a brand new dress from Zara for 99p and dungarees from Next, also 99p and still had the tags on.

My lo's 3-6 month wardrobe is all designer so great quality but I paid less than I would have in Asda and it will all keep for baby number 2

I LOVE bargain hunting

Tesco and sainsburys are good quality though a little more expensive but I really love asda for clothes for lo. They are really reasonably priced, beautiful and wash really well. I find asda is more generous in their sizes which suits us as lo is on the "chunky" side lol!

Sainsbury's clothes are lovely and Asda are ok (apart from all the Disney character stuff they seem to do urrgghh) but Tescos are awful I find.
