would it be a summer or winter ?? didn't want to get both if I don't need too would I need both do you think ???

I have got 2.5's for when she is due in August. Apparently, it's more on the temp of the nursery than the time of year - plus 2.5 is suitable for all year round.

It's on here - https://www.gro.co.uk/vmchk/Grobag-baby-sleep-bags/View-all-products.html?TreeId=1

Ah, glad I read this. My bubs is due beginning of October and its such an in-between month weather wise its confusing. :dohh:

My baby is due in 3 weeks, and I have only bought a 1 tog. Since buying a gro egg thermometer it has surprised me how warm our room actually is! Our room at the moment is always over 20 degrees c, so I thought the thinner one would be the best.
Maybe monitor the temperature in the room you are having the baby sleep in and then make a decision based on that?

I would go for a 1.0 tog - depending on the temperature of your room. I bought a 2.5 for my DD thinking it would be suitable for the winter but it is so thick! It turned out to be too warm because she has a radiator in her room. I have yet to use this 2.5 tog grobag as my DD's room temperature never goes below 22 degrees. I use 1.0 tog all year except for the high summer when I go for 0.5 tog.

depends on the room but we use a 1tog in the summer when its not stupid hot and 2.5 tog in the winter, dont forget though there is a minimum weight for babies to go into grobags

Hi, I only own 2.5tog and 1tog bags. I use 2.5tog bags the majority of time and the 1tog bag on days when the nursery is above 22degrees.
You can always change what your baby wears underneath the bag according to the temp. We use fleecy sleepsuits and a short sleeve vest plus 2.5tog bag on really cold wintry days (singled glazed house) moving to fleecy suit with no vest, then cotton sleepsuit with no vest and the 2.5tog bag most of the summer unless it gets really warm (lets face it I do live in the north east!) when I move to use the 1tog bags.
Bset way to check if your babe is too warm is by feeling the temp at the back of their neck. A GroEgg thermometer is good for the early days too.
Good luck!

Remember as well that most manufacturerers and health authorities don't recommend sleeping bags until baby is 10 lbs, so by the time your little one needs one, it may be a bit cooler.

I've got both 1 tog and 2.5 tog, to be safe I would get both and get a thermometer for the room so u can follow the instructions precisely as to what tog is appropriate for what room temperature. My house is very warm so I imagine 1tog will be needed in sept, even oct and then the 2.5 tog for nov onwards...if ur house is cooler u could probs get away with 2.5.

I did the 1 tog as well - I think that may be your best bet given the temp around that time.

:flower: thanks for posting this thread as i had the same question xx
