we have them and Hannah watches them occasionally. Her favorites are the Lullaby one, Baby Da Vinci head to toe, and world animals

I was gven a whole bunch, but I haven't used them with Simon yet.
They do not replace lots of interaction with a parent - in fact an article came out recently showing that language skills were delayed in children who were left to watch Baby Einstein instead of having time with mum and dad. The dvds may "talk" at the children, but they don't talk back when the child points and says something, or asks a question, so a crucial part of language development gets missed.
Having said all that, the one I have watched is fun to watch with baby. You find yourself quite mesmerized! :)
I have only put it on a handful of times and Simon was only interested briefly, but I tried to do lots of pointing and talking about what he was seeing.
It's up to you, really. But that's what I've heard/read about them.
Sorry - edited to add that we were given Baby Mozart, amongst many others. That's the only one I've watched.

Forgot to add - there was some sort of thread on TV-watching and babies earlier. Anyway, several people wrote about how TV-watching isn't good for babies in terms of brain development (ADHD risk or something?) and eye development. There was an article link on it, too. I just can't remember what the thread was called. I think that would only apply if the TV was on a lot, though? I don't know. It was new info to me and I thought it was kind of interesting.

Yeah tv watching isn't good for babies and it can delay their language development but if you are watching it with them, talking to them, or only using it a little bit, not daily and not for long periods of time I'm sure it would be fine. My kids never have watched much tv but we have baby einstein and they have watched it some and do watch some stuff...though Hayden is almost 21mo and really RARELY watches any tv at all. But it has neither are delayed, Casen actually talks on a level about 2yrs above him according to his pediatrician. I think if you aren't using it as a babysitter or constantly it's fine, just in moderation, like everything, you have to use common sense :) Baby Einstein actually taught both Landon and Casen about tons of animals that I would have never thought to teach..like cariboo lol..really what 2yr old knows what that is? haha

Some we really like are Baby Noah, Baby Mozart, Baby MacDonald and then the baby sign language one.

We have them, and when she was younger she really liked them, we have the cds too which were great for when she was a newborn.

We have the tv on some timesd throughout the day, but im always on the floor playing with her, and I find alot of what we see in the morning is singing and excersize stuff for kids.

I have them she watches them happily for a little while but I wouldnt let her watch more than 20 mins at a time. I just downloaded mine. I dont think I would spend lots of money on them to be honest.

I have a couple, and a couple other baby dvds. Her favorite is Baby Noah as she LOVES animals. Her baby dvds are the only thing she'll actually watch (along with Dora), she watches in her jumperoo in the morning so we can get 30-40 extra min of sleep. I have the TV on for me during the day sometimes (like if I want to watch the news, or a special program or movie I really want to see is on) but I play on the floor with her when its on, and she doesn't show any interest in my programs.

Hannah won't even sit and watch hers alone I sit with her  But she gets a lot of one on one time from both of us so a bit of Baby Einstein here and there does her no harm imo

Our paediatric association doesn't recommend any screen time for children under 2 yrs of age, to the extent that they're not even supposed to spend time in a room with a screen on (incl. computer screens). Supposedly it may increase chances of ADHD. Something to do with how rapidly screens flicker and the effect that has on the brain.

That said :) my eldest son did enjoy the Baby Einstein DVD's. It was nice to amuse him for 20mins here and there when I needed it. My 2.5 yr old daughter enjoys them now, although I didn't have her watching any TV prior to age 2 (partly because she was in an orphanage till 16months of age, and after that we spent quite a lot of time just bonding with her, so TV time just wasn't in the picture (pardon the pun!). For baby Joel, unless I really really need the break, he won't be getting any TV for a long time.

Thank you all i just wanted to buy them so that she gets distracted while i am feeding her other wise it is very deficult to feed her even one spoon.i doubt it if she is going to sit at one place and watch T.V. she does not watch any T.V yet so i am not sure if she is going to watch them.thank you all again for your advice n suggestions.will buy few n see how it goes.
