Baby Esme in 4D!

Hi Ladies,

I know on this forum a lot of women often ask whether its WORTH having a
4D scan....well, I went for one this weekend, Saturday in Boston...

I was very fortunate as I had a 50% off coupon so the whole thing cost around $104 dollars.

I was a little dissapointed at first, because our daughter was not being cooperative at all, she insisted on having her foot in front of her face, and this lasted for a grand total of 35 minutes, but the technician was really sweet and persevered and finally we got to see her, in total, we were in the scan for around an hour! So I was really happy that they kept on going until we could see our baby!

I also got a huggable heartbeat bear, so I can listen to her HB anytime, a disk of the photos, a dvd of the scan and 10 color prints!

I found the experience to be really nice and I have included a few pictures for you to have a look at!

Esme is such a lovely name! Abd such a little cutie in your pictures already! Do I remember rightly that a while ago you were considering the name Pandora? Or was that someone else?

Lol, yes, we were considering Pandora and I do love the name, but eveytime I told someone we were considering the name, I always got a few comments, not always bad comments, just comments about it in general ...even things like, Oh? Pandora? Like the Movie the Planet in Avatar? or, Oh?...Like the jewellery bracelets?...or Oh? Like the greek myth.?...and in the end, I just thought, I can't do this every single time someone asks me her name...

so, DH said, I love the name Esme, and whilst I realize that there is an Esme in Twilight....most people have never heard of the name, lol...and so now we just get, Oh? Thats nice! lol

which I can deal with...people and names, its so stressful!

Yes, I did enjoy the scan! It was fun and DH was so cute talking to my belly trying to get her to move her foot, and she did, so now he thinks she will actually listen and respond to him....

I loved getting my 3D photos too!! My daughter also was hiding her face. great photos!! I felt so much closer to my baby after getting them!!

That is so nice to hear - good news is always a pleasure to read. Ive found somewhere to have a 4d scan of my own nearby! Just got to convince DH when he gets home

I agree with your reasons for changing Pandora (although it IS a gorgeous name!!) I had the same issue. We wanted to call our son Jesse James but we got loads of comments on how it was the same as some adulturous partner of sandra bullock - and of course - the outlaw Jesse James was not a nice guy! lol!
We have now chosen Adam Joel. Completely different - but I couldnt take anymore of the hassle. Also a friend of ours called her daughter Jessie Jay when she was born a few weeks back and it is too close for comfort! lol!

Such amazing photos, so beautiful!

I am so jealous! I don't think I'll be lucky enough to get these. She's head down/ back facing and has been for a few weeks-we haven't gotten pictures in a while.

I've decided to not go for this ultrasound, but it is killing me to know that the technology is out there to let me see my baby who will look just like this (development-wise)!

DH and I decided that we don't want even a glimpse of the baby and what he will look like before he is born, but the nosey, curious side of me is DYING to go and get one done!

What a special gift you have a given yourself!!!
