Baby girl diaper changes?

I've been using WaterWipes with my son as he has very sensitive skin, and it's the only brand of wipes that seem to work for us. When he was a newborn (until 10 weeks or so), I made disposable wipes as I didn't yet know about WaterWipes and I wasn't comfortable putting the chemicals that Huggies/Pampers brand wipes are soaked in on my newborn. (My toxicologist father-in-law gave me a very serious lecture on the topic!)

Anyway. I don't know the gender of this baby, but before I continue stocking up on mega packs of WaterWipes (as I'm hoping potty training gets to gettin' soon!), I'm wondering if this baby is a girl, should I worry about the lack of cleaning agents in WaterWipes? I didn't know if water would be adequate to avoid UTI possibilities. I've never changed a baby girl! I could make wipes again, but if WaterWipes are adequate, it's a heck of a lot easier to have Amazon deliver!

WaterWipes contain only water and a very small amount grapefruit seed extract, if you aren't familiar with the brand.

Thanks!

We use water wipes with our 10 week old little girl. We use the wipes when out and about and just plain cotton wool and water in the house.
There are no issues with UTIs or anything like that. Just make sure you do all the wiping front to back to wipe the poop away from the urethra. Sometimes you have to get in there (to the urethra) to wipe the poop out and water wipes and cotton wool all do the job well.

I use water wipes on my 6 week old daughter and I haven't had any problems. We only use them when we are out of the house, at home I use cloth wipes with either just water or a wipe solution that I make from jojoba oil, tea tree oil, lavender essential oil, and witch hazel.

I've been using them on my 18 month old since she was born and have had no issues with infection from not being clean enough.

Like ours, baby girls' vaginas self-clean, but it is ok to gently wipe between the labia if there is visible poop there. It does happen!

Since I have to do that sometimes, I would much rather be cleaning her with what is essentially water than a bunch of chemical agents that could upset her natural balance.

She has never had nappy rash either, just an occasionally slightly red bottom while teething.

Thanks ladies! I'll be continuing with my WaterWipes usage, then!

Just an aside, have any of you ever had an problems with mold developing in a pack? I never have, but I have seen it mentioned in reviews.

I haven't had any mold, and I don't go through the package very quickly because I mostly use cloth wipes. I also let my DD hang out naked in her crib for 5-10 min after taking her diaper off in the morning to allow her lady bits to air out.

Never had any mould. The top few wipes in a pack can be a bit dry, but all you have to do is turn the pack over and squeeze it a couple of times. Other than that and the price, they have been absolutely perfect. Plus we buy in bulk from Amazon now so price isn't even an issue any more!

I used WaterWipes with my now almost 3 year old. Never any problems with her and never any mold.

We use cloth wipes with plain water and never had any issues. :)

Cloth wipes with plain water here too, until around 3 months. They I started adding wipe solution cubes, then I started making my own with a dollup of coconut oil and a few squirts of baby soap. Works great. No issues with mold or anything, but a "batch" lasts 2 days max.

We didn't go with water wipes because I had read the reviews about mold. :(

We went with honest wipes instead and we really like those. They have a great safety rating from EWG (https://www.ewg.org/skindeep/product/512805/The_Honest_Company_Honest_Wipes/). Just a back-up thought if you find the water wipes aren't working for you this time.
