Help! About 1 month ago my baby decided she had enough of the stroller. As soon as she is in it she screams and tears start rolling down until I pick her up. She is ok in the carrier but she is getting really heavy.

My question is, is this just a phase or has she just decided she no longer likes to be strapped in. She may last a few minutes if I give her yummy snacks but doesn't last long!

We are starting to be home bodies again to save my back. She is also very very clingy as well just to me.

Any tricks anyone can think of?

She never have been great in the stroller but used to be ok as long as he stroller was moving.

How old is she and what type of carrier are you using? Plenty of people babywear toddlers without a problem, when using the right type of carrier.

My DD hate he pushchair, always has. Unfortunately she hates walking to! She went through a phase (lasting about 9 months...) where she hated the carrier too but thankfully she is happy in it now. What carrier do you have? DD is 2 and I can comfortably wear her in our Ergo when we're out for a few hours. We used a baby bjorn once when she was about 8 months old and and I was uncomfortable after about 40 minutes! If the carrier is the only way LO is happy I'd look into different ones which might work better fr you guys; if you have a sling library near you they can be great for trying carriers out to find the right one for your needs.

Agree with PP's. I had a Rose and Rebellion and carried Rowan in it until he was over 2 years old, at which point he insisted on walking everywhere.

Hi ladies I have a baby bjorn carrier as well. My sister has the ergo and it much harder to get the baby in and out.

Hmm she is eight months old. I hope she wants to walk asap!

I will look up other carriers! Still hoping she will like the stroller one day !

Is she facing away from you in the stroller? If she can face you so she can see you that might help? We also have an ergo and it's so much more comfortable than a baby Bjorn. Once you get the hang of it, it should be quite easy to get a baby in and out.

I agree with the suggestion to get a new carrier. I invested in an Ergo when my oldest was four months. It was the best £100 I've ever spent. We got so much use out of it. Back carries are great for older babies. It does take a bit of practice, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes easy and convenient.
I'd say try searching a few different carriers (Ergo, mei tai, Beco etc) on YouTube and see which you like the look of. A local sling library will help too. Try searching on Facebook for one near you.

I wear my 37lb four and a half year old so an 8 month old should be no problem with a better carrier. Find your local sling library and they can help you find something that works better.

8 months is prime time for separation anxiety, so what you're describing sounds completely normal (if challenging). Like others have suggested, try a different carrier. Baby Bjorn is awful for your back (and not great for your LO's hips either), so it's no surprise you're finding it uncomfortable. I have an Ergo and I can still easily wear by 27 month old in it, so with a more supportive carrier, you should have no problems. Also, I second making sure you have a pushchair that faces you. It's really scary for them to be looking out at the world and not seeing you if they are already experiencing separation anxiety. So if you can get one that faces you (or ask to borrow from a friend until this phase passes), you may find it all gets a lot easier.

My lo was like this for a while. I noticed she liked to snuggle into the side of the car seat or my shoulder when sleepy so rolled a blanket up and put it either side and over the top of her head. She then snuggled into this and has been much better.

She still prefers the carrier though as she is incredibly nosy and leans forward in the pram to see out.

I have a connecta and can carry my 21lb 9 month old easily on my front (haven't got the hang of back carries yet)

My 31lb one year old is easy to carry in the connecta (there is a toddler size one too), I love woven wraps but they are a bit of a faff so not great if you want something quick, my ring sling probably gets the most use for popping to the shops though I find x

Thanks ladies I will try and find another carrier that works. My sister has an ergo might give it a try first.
Well turn the pram around to see if it makes a difference! Hopefully it is as simple as that!

Took her into work using the carrier it was a big physical challenge but we survived.
