got my doppler in post this morning, thought i heard the baby heart beat for a few shorts seconds then could only hear swishy noises so gave up. read on the leaflet that it helps if your bladder is full when in first tri so i drank some water and tried again...heard the same noise as i did the first time and those noises i thought was baby heart beat only this time i could move away and find it again rather quick when i went back to that area (cant hear that noise any where else) the only way i could explain was like a train or something similar (it was kinda like my heart beat but sounded way to fast to be mine would this be the baby's heart beat) :happydance:

Yeah that sounds like it. I bought one and didnt get a chance to use as I m/c a couple of days ago but I asked my friend who is 6 months to try it and it sounded like horses hoofs.

Apparently... if it sounds like a train it's a boy! Hoofs its a girl. Does it have a display screen that shows how fast heart beat is? If so between 130-150 its a girl and if its between 150-170 its a boy!

Hope this helps xxx

no the one i have hasnt got a display but all i could think was sounds like a train. (i've been thinking its a boy since i took the test and all the fun wifes tales and pridection charts have predicted a boy lol)

sorry about you m/c, i believe i posted something on your thread...if you ever need a chat im more than willing to be here for you, i m/c 2 in the last 18months :hugs:

an thanks so much for answering x x x

No problem at all. I'm so glad you got to use your doppler. I had been so excited about trying it out but I'll hang on to it as hopefully, in time and after some tests we'll consider trying again next year. But in meantime, I'm gonna enjoy being able to drink wine for a while!

Good luck with your pregnancy and enjoy your doppler xxx

thanks susywoosy hope your able to find answers and better luck in the future x x x :hugs: x x x

which one have you got?

it the hi-bebe bt200 i think...im renting it i got it off one of the advertisment link on this site, ordered it yesterday and got it today x x

ah cool! i want to get the angel sounds one.

i've heard they aint the best for first tri but are good after 12-14 weeks but i suppose you get some lucky ones who find it really easy and otherds who find it hard to find..all the best whichever you choose x x

Hi hun, yeah a train is exactly what it sounds like :) I had a ultrasound and it confirmed heart rate to be 170ish and thats what it picks up when I hear the train noise.

A lower heartrate indicates a boy and a higher heartrate indicates a girl. My friend is having a boy and hers is around the 140 mark, and I have heard this quite a few times.

I too can only hear it for a few seconds before bubba moves again and I loose it. Bubba is still so small you have to be in exactly the right position to hear it. Good luck finding it again xxx

Sounds like the heartbeat hun. I have an angelsounds and have heard the hb since 9wks

I've got a hi bebe doppler too its rubbish LOL.

Anyhow sorry it does sound like babies HB congrats =)

Only thing is when women find there babies HB others seem to think they will find theres at 9/10 weeks and if they dont they start worrying.

I didnt find my sons HB until 13-14 weeks or 15 weeks lol

I tried angel sounds today and couldnt find anything. Now Im worried . My Dh was annoyed because daughter in law said it should be used after 16 weeks. Wasnt designed for before.

Midwife found heartbeat eventually on Tuesday but said it could be hiding behind firbroids I have. I have a scan tomorrow 12+ scan. My eldest daughter is travelling from Wales and Im worried now that Bubba has gone on scan. Still feel nauseus but in my case that means nothing. Wasnt too worried but definately am now.

Update HAd another go and found it. Like a train engine:happydance:

i've not been able to find it for last 2 days but im not to worried...ill just try again in a few days time :)

If you're unsure if its your babys hb or not... heres mine so you can hear if its sounds similar!
