Baby Measuring 2 weeks behind... :(

Hi all...I am 15 weeks pregnant, but the baby is measuring 12w4d. She has been small this whole pregnancy and my due date has changed 4 times. I have switched dr's 3 times, as the first two made me believe I was over reacting and should not worry. Well, I knew something was wrong and I went to a new doctor today. He was very concerned, and didn't give me very high hopes of the baby making it. She has been growing in between most ultrasounds, (although she was measuring the same today as a week ago...this was the first time there wasn't growth), and her heartbeat has always been very strong. I have a high risk ultrasound scheduled for Monday, but I am terrified. There's nothing on earth I want more than this baby and I am so furious that 2 different doctors pushed me aside when there is clearly a problem with my baby. I am having a bunch of blood work done, and depending on the ultrasound Monday I may also need an amniocentesis. I should mention this is my first pregnancy and I am a healthy 24 year old. However, I have been spotting for 5 weeks daily and up until today and this new doctor, I was not given a reason why (even though I begged!) There is a piece of my placenta that formed over the cervix that is causing the bleeding. Usually, this is nothing to worry about but with the growth issues we are all concerned. My husband and I have no genetic issues in our families. This shouldn't be happening to me. Can anyone relate? Has anyone experienced this and had a positive outcome? Please help...

It must be awful to be so worried n then get no answers. Babies are stronger then we give them credit for. My mum was told i wouldn't make it and here Iam 24 with 2 babies myself.

Don't lose hope until u actually no what's going on and I hope u get answers too

That must be so worrying I've no experience, but are your dates definitely correct and were your cycles regular before you fell pregnant?

Never give up hope, even when you are hearing the worst...........
Doctors were having conversations with me 15 days ago about how to end my pregnancy due to a ruptured membrane after an amnio.

Yesterday, I had another scan to find my fluid levels were normal and I had resealed against all odds.

Someone posted on one of my posts that motherhood is tough......... it sure is , but keep positive and strong for you and your little one

Thank you guys...that really means a lot. I love hearing how strong these babies can be! My doctor too, talked to me about terminating the pregnancy if this doesn't improve. I can't bare to think about it.

And yes, we were ttc so I used an ovulation predictor and everything. Dates can't be off. I however am 5"1 and pre-pregnancy was 102 lbs, my mom is only an inch taller and same with her mom. We are all small. I'm praying it's just a little peanut girl.

Keep strong my baby is measuring a few days behind and my daughter was 34 weeks when I was suppose to be 36 weeks and she came out just fine. Just Keep your head up and stay postive.

Mine is measuring 1 wk 2 days behind but my cycles are every 6 weeks so they are taking that as the reason why.

Are you taking vitimans? Try some Pregnacare Plus, you can get them in most supermarkets x

When I had a scan at 16 weeks, there were quite a few measurements of my baby that were measuring a week behind but she said this was still normal. I'm only 5ft 2 so think I will have a small baby anyway.

I have had something similar to this... but i wasn't quite as far along. When i was 9w5d i started bleeding and bled for about 3 weeks straight, also my hcg levels were really low, went to the doctor and they did a scan and at first couldnt even see the baby or catch a heart beat, i was scared, so we waited for a couple of hours and tried again. When we finally was able to locate baby they told me baby was only measuring at 6weeks, so really small! But babies heart beat was strong (it was 169),i was scheduled for another ultrasound about a week later and baby had not grown at all, but again, the heart beat was strong! I was then scheduled for yet another u/s when i was 14 weeks, and baby had caught up and is only measuring a few days behind!


I was never told what caused the bleeding, and i was told that with the lack of growth and the hcg levels they were not sure if baby would make it til the 12 weeks scan, but baby did! And is still nice and healthy! So, there is hope, and there is a chance your baby will be just fine! Babies grow at different rates, some grow bigger some grow smaller!!

at 19 weeks we were 2-2 1/2 weeks behind now we are 2 weeks ahead. i went crazy at 19 weeks and spoke to the consultant who said they werent too worried for a couple of weeks.
