Im assuming this will b a very big baby, now im worried :$, anyone else had measurements like this? X

Thats awesome! Unfortunately my wee guy is only in the 25th percentile, he is tiny, but has a condition that causes IUGR so we expected that. But hey 95th percentile is great! Nice big baby :D

Doesn't necessarily mean you will have a big baby ... Baby might have just had a growth spurt ... My little girl was always measuring ahead and at my 38 week appointment she was a little behind on measurements but still a healthy weight and size :) your baby's growth could slow down

I actually hope it slows a bit, my dd was 8lb 11, will find out tomorrow if ive got GD my mum had my brother 13 yrs ago and he was 11lb 12! That scares me!

My little guy's tummy is measuring in the 90th percentile at 33 weeks. But keep in mind, your baby could also end up being long too. And it's also too early still to say how much he could weight. He's got some time yet.

our boy has measured ahead all along and at the last scan was in the 96th percentile. i also have a belly big enough for twins - people stop me in shops to comment on it!
i'm trying not to worry though. my mum says that i was an easier birth at 9 1/2lb compared to my lil bro who was 6 1/2lb. she's a paediatric nurse and says big babies are often like that, it's like they know where they're going! and all my nursing/doctor friends say that big babies are healthy babies and tend to have less issues so i'm holding onto that! i'm pushing 41 weeks here so i really hope he comes soon or he'll be the size of an elephant!!
good luck!

Mine was above 95th centile at 28 weeks and has been off the charts since 34 weeks.... My belly is huge and the pressure is very intense at 39 weeks... But not long to go :) your bubba might plateau, but if not dont panic, am sure your body will only produce what you can physically manage to deal with :)

I had a growth scan yesterday, while my baby is still growing in the top end of the normal range, they have noted that AC (whatever that is I think it's abdomen as that measurement was largest) is in the 95th percentile. I am panicking now I am having a massive baby considering I am having growth scans as they where concerned it was small due to measurements etc:shrug:.....my bump is not big at all but my placenta is prosteria, does anyone know if that makes a difference?

I am having another scan at end of month when I will be 36 weeks :hugs:

Hey hun doesnt allways mean your gunna have a big baby it just means that your baby is the larger size of average i wouldnt worry unless his measurements go off the centiles iykwim :-) Also as a pp said maybee your baby had a growth spurt right before your scan therefore would make baby seem big for his age when infact he mite not do much more growing for the next week or so if that makes sense dont worry hun :-) My daughter was born big but she measured bang on all the way through these scans are only guidleins they arent set in stone they can be wrong by upto 2lb either way

Yep I had my 34 week scan yesterday, my big baby is on the 97th percentile, and his poor little twin is on the 66th, Im hoping the big one slows down soon and starts sharing with his brother! Both of their tummies were mega fat, with the bigger one actually off the chart at >98th centile!

Theres not much we can do about the way our baby/s grow, just gotta go with it and maybe get cracking on some perinneal massage late 3rd trimester, and keep active during labor, and not to push before 10cms! (my last babies were 9lb12 and 9lb5, and I did each of them naturally)

Your baby might slow down in growth by then tho, 28 weeks is still early

Although my baby's not quite 95th percentile the AC measurement was in between 50th and 95th on the chart at 28 weeks making baby ahead by nearly 2 weeks gestation I've had another growth scan since and it turns out baby just had a growth spurt and is back measuring perfect so instead of going for growth scans every 2 weeks I now only have one at 34 and another at 38 :)

I had my 35 week scan today and have been really upset about it. Baby measuring above 90th percentile for head and abdomen circumference and the lady who scanned me said the baby weighed almost 8 pounds now (BUT IM ONLY 35 weeks). I was so upset I rang the midwives who were reassuring and told me to try not to worry... but I can't help being worried. I don't mind a big baby (9pounds) but I don't want a record breaking baby. I looked at the notes written in my book and it says 42 weeks against the head and abdomen measurements! 7 weeks ahead!

I know how you feel I am feeling the same! I'm only 32 weeks :( they didn't give me a guestimated weight but I have entered them online and my baby is around 5.4 pounds now according to measurements......I'm going to have a baby elephant at this rate, do u think its what I am eating? I'm really nervous for my next scan at 36 weeks!

I asked the midwives the same thing... have I eaten too much? I have put on 18 pounds whilst pregnant and they said it was not what I had been eating... but some babies are larger. They said that I was lucky to be having a healthy big baby. I can't help but worry though and feel like it's my fault some how.

Aww hun don't be too hard on yourself, have your scans been ok up till now? Mine have and they not over concerned about size well if they are they didn't say. Everyone has told me not even scan measurements are accurate but I'm worrying still like you. The ironic thing with me is that I'm having growth scans cause they thought baby was small.....u got to laugh baby has other ideas :hugs:

What weight did they estimate bubby at?

I wasn't given an estimated weight and neither the scanner or my consultant mentioned the measurements I just read them in file when I came away then entered details online and I got the 5.4ish estimated weight :haha:

hey my fundal height was on the 90th centile at my 28w appointment, my mw is not worried, she had a feel of my belly ad thinks its alot of water rather than a big baby, got anothe appointment monday so we'll see if its any different lol

My baby's estimated weight at 35 weeks was 7 pounds 5 ounces based on the scan measurements! Going to talk to obstetrician on Monday... am still worried.
