Baby measuring big on growth scan (worried)

hi i never went for th GTT with my other 3 so not sure if i had it or not, im now on 3 tablets a day and its looking like i will be put on insulin next week :( x

Awww hon bless you. They have just put me on more iron pills as well as the medication for the cholestasis and then all my anti rejection liver medication. There hear me coming when I go in to have the baby. I'll be rattling hahahaha.

Waiting to see with mine....7lb8 at 36 weeks, estimated weight at 38weeks 9lb10. I have lost 3lb inbetween! Obstetrician has insisted on inducing me at 39weeks. Which i’m ok with as was due to be induced at 40 due to age, and they can’t fit me in anyway until 39+2 and I’m booked as an extra so entirely expecting to be cancelled.

Not thrilled with the idea of pushing out a massive baby or that the consultant has written all over my notes that I must have early decision for C section due to size. I don’t think the evidence supports this.

Hi hon
I've literally just commented back to you in the August thread.

I've seen a few specialists now and a really supper high up midwife who I had to talk to about birth matters. And I've been told by all of them that growth scans are just a guess and are not accurate at all hon.
They can be a few lbs out either way.
How is ure fundal height (height of uterus) measurements?

My fundal height is measuring a week behind and for me the fundal height has been way more accurate than growth scans hon. Midwife had a good feel of baby today and she told me he really isnt that big at all.

And in past experiences I was told my DS1 was going to be small. And no more than 7 and a half lbs. But my fundal height always measured 2 weeks ahead with him and I just new he was going to be a big baby because I was huge with him and my bump was all baby and not squishy at all just solid. Even when lead down but according to growth scans he was not a big baby. Well he was a huge baby he was 8lb 15oz so almost 9lb. I did go 2 weeks past my due date tho so he had an extra 2 weeks of growth.

And with DD the growth scans were always showing big. But my fundal height was measuring a week behind. At 35 weeks I had a growth scan and she was already 7lbs. I had her 4 days later and she was 5lbs.

Hope that puts ure mind at rest hon.
I have another growth scan on 4th September at 34+2 and no dought they will say baby is measuring a million lbs but I'm just gonna take it with a pinch of salt.

I'm being induced to hon. At around 37 38 weeks. Hoping to get my date soon when I see my high risk pregnancy consultant. Hope they can get u in sooner hon.

My little chunk came out at 39+6 and was 10lb 8 and 55cm long. A big girl and kind of glad I had a C section for failed induction.

Congratulations hon u are a trooper. Hope ure recovering well. No idea what my little man weighs now as haven't had a scan since the last one and dont think I'll be getting another one. I'm being induced on the 24th September at 37+1 weeks. So just over a week to go and I cant wait.
Very nervous about the birth but have requested a epidural. Just praying it all goes well. [-o<

All three of my kids were 9 lbs 11 oz...which is very odd! First one the day before I gave birth they were estimating 8 lbs (that was in 2012). Second one I don't remember what they thought but it was not over 9 lbs. Third one, since he was a boy, they monitored every month because they feared he would be bigger than my daughters and scheduled me to be induced on my due date (he came two days early on his own). This time I am measuring big again even though i don't have, and never have had, GD. I am at a practice with midwives and drs and saw a dr last visit who started talking induction. I will be seeing only midwives from here on out. I can handle big babies and I don't need intervention. I didn't even tear with my third! I don't like the added stress about induction talk.
