So I thought I would share my birth story after posting so much in 3rd tri not actually knowing if I was in labour!
I started having tightenings whilst walking around tesco on Saturday around 7pm, got to 10pm n I thought these are quite regular, every 15 mins and a bit painful!
So I started rushing round, packing hospital bag, packing bag for the kids to stay out and cleaning the house!
Managed to get quite a bit done but couldn't sleep as I was nervous/excited and getting a bit more painful!
Oh was in work and I'd told him about the contractions and he may need to come home early however he wasn't convinced as I'd had contractions all week which stalled!
Got to 2am and they started to really hurt, asked oh to come home so I could get a bath and he could get up with kids if needed to but he still wasn't convinced!
He was finishing at 4 but after finishing up he wouldn't normally get home till 5! I'd phoned my sister who was ment to have the kids, no answer, phoned ohs sister, no answer and phoned my brother and his girlfriend, again no answer!!!
Started to panic as iv had quick labours in the past! Anyway oh got hold of my mum and I told him to get her round and he needed to come home as it was 4am and contractions every 3-4 mins!
By the time he got home I got changed and we got the hospital it was 5am, midwife checked and I was 4-5cm and found a room, started gas and air and bouncing on ball as baby needed to turn!
Midwife changed over at 7am to a midwife who was a student when I had dd and was the only one who believed I was in labour! By 7am the pressure from my bulging waters was so overwhelming and the gas and air wasn't workin! 7.45am and when looking to see what was happening my waters popped all over the place and all over midwife haha never had that happen before!
Really felt the need to push and when midwife checked she said she still felt some cervix, and baby still needed to turn so told me to be on all fours on the bed! Straight away I felt soooo much pressure and needed to push and started pushing, started crowning (ouch) and midwife pressed for another midwife to come and help but they were too late and he came out!!!
Looked at oh and kept asking what is it! And saw tears in his eyes and he said its a boy!!! Couldn't believe it!
Nate was born at 8.02am weighing 8lb and looked so much like dd! Now he's like half and half of dd and ds!
He was sicky a but last night whilst home due to mucus he swallowed but he has been feeding well this morning and generally sleeping all the time!
I feel quite good! Just a small graze I can't feel, have managed to wee and poop and the kids love him!!!
I'm breast feeding but he's being lazy upto now n tryna wake him up to feed him! x
