Thomas is well on his way with his crawling now, he is like speedy Gonzales! I literally can't take my eyes off him for a split second. It's like all the things he shouldn't go near he is drawn to. First it was plug sockets so I've put them socket plug things in them.

Now he is attracted to the wires and I really don't know how to make them safer.. I've tried to put them out of sight but it's not that easy with some of them. Also photo frames.. Anything Thomas can get to he will do and I feel like I'm constantly telling him no but obviously He doesn't understand.

Then there's the skirting board corners.. If he bangs himself on one of them then it's really going to hurt.

What else can I do other than what I'm already doing? It's getting to the point where I hate being at home because I just see danger everywhere :/

I know exactly where you are coming from. I'm currently sitting in a lounge with wood that we cut to fit covering the tops of my house plants, all pictures up high and bubblewrap taped to the corners if the coffee table. We have taped the TV wires to the skirting boards, and moved the floor standing speaker to cover the TV aeriel lead and plug. Just get nice wide masking tape so it sticks well and won't cause damage when its time to take it off... Good luck!!

Eta, we've also cabletied the gas fire shut, and stood things in front of the floor standing lamps. The corner protectors that you can buy I found to be rubbish. They are nearly as hard as the table and didn't fit ours at all!

Ahh didn't think of masking tape! That's a fab idea! Thank you :flower:

Our LO is creeping rather than crawling at the moment, so she doesn't move very fast, but you still can't leave her alone. We have put corner guards on the skirting board corners, the same as you get for the edges of tables. They look like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Round-Corner-Protectors-Furniture-Protection/dp/B00BQCURX6

Haven't got around to leads yet, but will probably use ties. We also have to strap the TV to the wall and sort out the visible pipes, which can get very hot. I'm still undecided as to whether we should cover the radiators.

Thanks for the link. I didn't even think about strapping our tv to the wall. I don't think LO could pull it over though. The radiators are a concern for me too because they get so hot. At the moment I'm blocking them off with various things but I'm sure it won't be long before Thomas barges past. Do you have any idea how much radiator covers cost?

The leads we just picked up or moved. For instance, I can't charge my laptop where I used to anymore because it meant stretching the lead across the lounge. No big deal. I just charge it at the table before I need it so I can sit on the sofa without the lead being on the floor. Everything else got picked up or tucked behind furniture. We put some boxes of toys and things in front of the fireplace (we don't light it) to keep her out of it and off the stone floor in front. And we put up stair gates. Otherwise, haven't done much. She's rarely out of my sight and we take the perspective that we can't wrap her in bubble wrap. She might fall over and whack her head on something (she falls over a lot!), but I feel like that's normal and there's only so much you can do without driving yourself nuts. They didn't have any of this safety stuff when I was a kid and I survived, so I feel confident she will as well.

Regarding the plug socket covers:

I would recommend removing them, I will not be using them.

Wires/cables can be collected in a cable cover
Frames I'll be moving up higher
Corner covers can be used to cover sneaky sharp corners (tables etc)
Door bang preventers

Oh my god I didn't know that about plug socket covers! I've just removed all of mine.

I didn't even know they weren't safe.. I've worked in a few different nurseries and all of them have had the plug socket covers. They shouldn't be allowed to sell them in shops if they are so dangerous
