when does this happen usually, dont want to be caught out so will need to lower cot again. xx

I can't remember exactly how old Amy was but I think she was around 7-8 months. Just after she started crawling she started to pull herself up on small things, like a shoebox or large toy. We caught her trying to climb out of her cot that night and lowered it straight away.

Ben started this 2 weeks ago, so roughly 8 months. He had been crawling for a couple of weeks beforehand. I went in his room one day after a nap and he was standing up peering over! The cot went down straight away! We are still in the phase wheeee he stands up and can't get down again, prompting numerous trips into his room at night!

My son started this yesterday and he's 8 mos.

It started at around 7 mnths. Now he's too long for his cot so we moved his travel cot to our room for night sleep. It's much higher & safer. If he falls down on the bed while standing the net is safer than wood. xxx

Ruby was 11 months. You are so right to lower the cot before it actually happens, I have no idea why we didn't and Ruby fell out of her cot. I have no idea how I managed to catch her before she hit the ground but I did. OH and I felt horrible for days.

Hannan started pulling herself up on her knees first so that told us we needed to lower it!

think we are going to do it at the end of the month when sylvie is about 26 weeks

My LO started doing this at 6 months. I'd just lower your cot to be on the safe side as they seem to learn things over night

We just lowered ours today. She hasnt pulled herself up on it yet - but we are realizing she seems aware of the possibility now. She isnt crawling or going up on all 4's yet. She's just figured out that rolling over works in her crib and not just on the floor- LOL She's been focused more on talking vs. physical things so I felt comfortable waiting to lower it.

Sorry hun, didn't mean to worry you. She'll be fine I was just thinking you should maybe lower it sooner rather than later just in case. There's no harm in lowering it to be prepared. My LO started to pull herself up after she was on all fours for a couple of weeks and was sitting unaided. Dont worry :hugs:

ha ha ok. ill let her sleep then. i'm a terrible worrier. i think its because she will happily lie in her cot for hours after waking up and i think she could be up to mischief, plotting ways to escape!!!

:haha: They are always up to mischief! I peeked into my LO room this morning as i heard her and she was sitting up babbling to her 3 stuffed bears in her cot nodding away to them :haha:

Def think she was organising an escape!!
