I have been looking at the Baby Show in London - end October

Has anyone been? Is it worthwhile?

I fancied going as will be 20 weeks so wont be too big yet- dont think we will be buying big stuff at that stage as I think my parents want to buy stuff for us but want to wait till after Christmas (I dont want to wait that long but what can I do!)

I thought it might be a good opportunity to see what is out there and maybe buy some of the smaller items like breast pump, decorations for nursery etc and generally just have a day out!

what do you think?

Hi!
I've never been but I'm going to the one in October! I'm just looking forward to a day out hahaha! X

Hi i went in 2006, it was great, didnt buy anything but came away with
bags and bags of freebies, you go around and each of the stalls hands you something or you have to fill in a short form to get them, i got tonnes of huggies nappies/wipes
pampers samples, avent samples, baby towel, creams, washing powder/tablets/conditioner ect

Im going again in october aswell, not planning on buying anything but like you just
for the day out with hubby and the freebies again of course! lol

If you do decide to go and book tickets, theres a code in freebie section
i posted to get you in cheaper. x

I went to the NEC baby show in May with my sister who is about to pop now! It was brilliant and we found the discounts really good. We're both going back in October, this time for me, and I can't wait :)

I went to the one in Birmingham, when I'd only just found out I was pregnant, it was absolutely brilliant. We didn't buy much at all with me being under 12 weeks, but it helped us to know what we wanted to buy, test out the products a little (my boyfriend found a lovely harness that he can't get out of his head now even 4 months or whatever it is later), get some top advice...and the shows are pretty good. Oh and we got quite a few little freebies!
I think it was good cuz it involved the boyfriend a bit more. Also went with my parents and my little sister and it was just a nice, fun day!

I'd suggest setting a spending limit though, I know if I went now, at 25 weeks, and knowing the gender we would actually go crazy! :S And I'd say you probably don't save very much money, and there's no way of returning regretted purchases. So just be careful what you spend!

I'd like to go but I'm not impressed that only kids under 10 go free :(

As it doesn't say any different, I presume I'd have to pay full price for my 11 and 13 year old daughters which is putting me off. It's a lot of money just to go shopping iykwim - I won't have any money left to buy anything :(

I'm pretty sure we didn't pay full price for my sister, and she's 15...is there definately not a child ticket? :S

Not that I can see - I got a leaflet through the post this morning with a letter and offer from Emma's Diary. All it says is kids under 10 go free and has rates for standard tickets, standard advance tickets and grandparent's tickets :growlmad:

It'll cost £64 for all of us to go at the offer price - silly money really :(

Can your 11 year old not pass for a 10 year old? ;-)

She probably would actually, she's not 'developing' yet - much to her disgust :haha: Probably tmi but she had me in stitches last night examining her arm pits for any signs of hair lol - kept her occupied for ages!

Dang, I'm on holiday till the 24th which is when the baby show ends. Tickets feel pricey though.

Haha awwh bless. Tell her she'll get there one day and to enjoy it while she can!! And also to get used to it. Sounds like she's gonna be like me, I don't think I'll ever ever stop getting I.D-ed! :dohh:

aww that sounds fun, I wish they had those in the states! Never heard of it...

I wanna go, it will be so fun and will make you feel special. Its probably worth the money for the good day out. You can learn about new things you never even knew existed.
