Baby still has a bruise from birth?

Our little girl is 12 days old today and still has a red bruise under one eye from when she was born. She also had a bruise on her butt, which has since healed, but the one under her eye isn't really going anywhere yet...

She came out breech and apparently I tore when that part of her head came out (3rd degree - ow), and I know that skin is super sensitive, but I'm hoping I'm not the only one here who has a baby with a bit of a black (red) eye.

I've been trying to look up how long it takes for birth bruises to heal and so far Google just tells me "less than a week" which does not help me. Has there been anybody here whose baby kept a birth bruise for a little longer and it did go away on its own?

Yes, my DS had a black eye for a few weeks. Went away on its own

My dd was forcep delivered and left badly bruised. We have pics of her at a month old with faint yellow brusing still visable x

Yes my niece was forceps and had a red mark underneath and to the side of her eye until she was well over 6 weeks old x

my little boy was born with no help, but he was stuck for a long time, every single day, still one year on everyone including my mum asks what hes done to his eye, he has a sort of cracked vein, but it looks like a bruise, maybe it could be something like that? my OH has the same thing in the same place, so im not worried, infact ive never even thought to ask about it...

It's still there and got darker, so I'm pretty sure it's a birthmark of some kind. Hopefully the kind that fades a bit like a salmon patch (that's what it looks most like to me). I just don't want her to get teased about it when she gets older...

She's so freaking cute though. She looks a lot like her daddy!

Maybe it's a storkbite sort of thing? My son had one on his upper eyelid. I'm not sure when it became less visible but perhaps about age 3.
