Well im soo happy my boy is finally here.. I was being induced at 37+6 because i was on morphine and codein continuously and i had continuous migraines:
Anyways i had to go in last thurs at 3pm i got a prostin propess fitted at 8pm this fell out around 5am into the toilet. I told the midwives but didnt get another fitted until 12.30 and they took that out 4 am (sat morning)
I then had a ce and found that nothing had happened i was only a fingertip dilated posterior and thick. prostin tablet fitted 8pm that night and had nothing.
Dr decided to leave me all sunday and said that if i hadnt gone into labour by mon then i would hav to go home and try again in a week.
Mon morning still no labour but saw a different dr who said im not going home. I will be checked and if thy can pop my waters they will and if not more prostin, but i had to wait until a bed was free on delivery suite. Alll day i waited eventually sent my oh home at 8pm and started settling down for the night. 9pm he came to check my cervix and i was only 1cm dilated mid position quite longish but he said he could do it as i was very stretchy. I had to then wait until 11pm to be moved...
At 12am he broke my waters that was painful tbh as he had to stretch me. Ny oh arrived as the Contractions started about 20 mins later. By 3am they put me on th drip to get them more powerful (my consultant said because i was soo unfavourable that would take until lunch next day to just get my cervix ready) and she wanted to speed everything up.. By 5am my oh had fallen asleep and i was on gas and air. Contractions were so bad by 6am i was begging for an epidural and had a shot of pethadine while i was waiting.. Had my epidural at 6.30 which took a while to kick in even then it wasnt full strength and i could feel his head pushing against my cervix.
I got checked at 7 30am and was only 5 cm. The pains were getting worse and at 8.15 i got this huge urge to push and midwife was soo slooow and then decided to check me i was 10 cm. Dawdled off to write it on th board then dawdled bk and i was holding him in the whole time. I got one big push out came his head and then another 2 and he was fully out..
His hand had been by his head and i still didnt need any stitches or anything. Im on cloud nine and love my baby boy to the ends of th earth..
