Just wondering whether anyone has had an early scan with babybond? I want to book one for when I'll be 7+6 (Heathrow branch). I'm a bit scared that if I book it today (at 4+2) that I'm somehow jinxing the pregnancy (didn't I say the paranoia was going to kick in?!). I would really like to wait a week to book because I've told myself I'll do a digi next weekend (in the hope of seeing 3+) and then start to believe it. However, I want a Saturday appointment and I'm worried they are going to get booked up if I leave it. What do you think ladies?

Hi TripleB. I'm exactly the same as you. I want to book a scan for a saturday but am reluctant to do it just in case. Last time around I spoke to them and they said you normally have to ring up about 2 weeks in advance to get a saturday, but they can sometimes squeeze us in either first thing or last thing as the reasurance scan only takes 10 minutes. Just give them a ring and see if they will be able to fit you in nearer the time and explain the situation and they should be able to help.

If you go to their website and start the process for booking online you can see how many appointments they have left for the Saturday that you want. Then you'll know whether you have to book now to secure one or whether you can afford to wait a week or so.

I had an early scan at the branch in Manchester and they were really good. I got a couple of really nice pics too.

Oooh that's a great idea JK and they seem to have quite a few appointments for the Saturday I'm after. Now me being the worrier I am wants to book the 10am one because I know it will be agony waiting around all day! Argh! I think I'll sound out my DH this evening and see what he thinks. I haven't called the doctor yet either because I don't want to tempt fate! xxx

Depends on the area how quickly they get book. I booked Munch's 3 weeks in advance and got the first appt of the day :)

I went to the Glasgow babybond and loved it. I was only measuring 7 weeks instead of 8 so they got me back for a free scan 3 weeks later as I hadn't seen much and baby was then measuring right on target :)

i tried badly to get an apointment at the heathrow branch, and i was trying to book a month in advance and they were fully booked, so i'd reccomened booking asap.

and i loved babybond, lovely experience.

xxx

Thanks veganmum, that's really useful. I suppose it is in a busy area. Great that you all give babybond the thumbs up - especially the free scan trumpetbum!

The irony is I actually work for a company that makes ultrasound machines - I should just break into the showroom at the office and self-scan! xxx

I had an early scan at babybond, it was a lovely experience and we got some great pictures of baby. The lady scanning me went to great lengths to explain everything she could see even down to which ovary I had ovulated from!!

Have spoken to DH and we've agreed to book it next week (they appear to have plenty of appointments for that Saturday left). Last time around I started spotting the day AF was due and it pretty much carried on that way until MMC diagnosed at 11 weeks. If we can make it to the weekend with no spotting (so far so good!) I'll be feeling a lot more confident that history won't repeat itself and I'll book the scan. Also will only be 3 weeks to wait! Have decided I will call the doctor though because I want this pregnancy on record if the worst happens. For now though, all is well! xxx
