When my sister went back to work before 39 weeks with her youngest (4 years ago) She was given the rest of her SMP in a lump sum on her next payday. She had lik,e a month left and got about £500 that she would have got had she still been off as well as that months wages.
Does anyone know if this is an all over thing or was it just a company thing? Alos if it was all over does it still happen today?
My sister and i work for the same company but she is hourly paid and im salaried and i feel a little awkward talking to her about it as on a salary the company gives you a 'topup' payment if you stay back at work for six months which is about £1500 they didnt give my sister.
Any advice appreciated
