had my apmt at the recurrent mc clinic today. I feel blessed that i was referred to it as i have not had 3 mc's but i suppose maybe my age had something to do with it.

The nurse was lovely, she has an MBE (Member of British Empire, rewarded by the Queen for outstanding service in the recipients field of expertise) for christ sake, so she must be good. She is also going off with retirement in March so im lucky i got to see her.

She went through the entire medical history of me and oh. My pg's, what happened and any illnesses i or oh did have (as it happened not much)

She said that my history points to a blood clotting problem as both my babies died at 6 weeks and that it does indicate its not a genetic problem.

Im having blood tests for 2 different anti bodies, my thyroid, liver and kidneys checked including all my blood levels for folic acid, iron and b 12.

If they all come back negative we we will have genetic testing done (karyo typing).

I get back for the 20th feb to go through the tests results and set up a treatment plan. Im also told not to ttc as i would need treatment for any pg.

Im well chuffed and feel very blessed not only to have been offered this but to have been given such a knowledgeble nurse to work with.

Im very positive and feel i can at last have a healthy baby.

Life is good!!! LOL!!

glad for you Omi...so always make a big difference to meet a nurse or doc who knows what they doing and take to heart the patient they have front of.

Thats great news Omi...good luck with everything and I will look forward to your updates x x x x

that brillaint hunni but i dohave 2point out one thing she did get wrong.. saying because your baby died at same time ment it wasnt a genetic problem is wrong.. it can be blood problem or genetic.. all mine died at same gestation every time and mine is genetic, so she cant say that.
i hope they give you all the answers you need hunni.

Fantastic! Great news! Gosh, I hope it is something easily "fixed".

Nice to hear you have good medical professionals working on your case. Mine is a piece of crap! I just got back from my follow-up and got NOTHING out of it basically! They took 11 tubes of blood, but about 5 tests were done wrong so it all needs to be redone. Then the endometrial biopsy they sent off to test for freaken CANCER! So the doctor goes "well we'll just have to ask the pathologists to reinterpret it in terms of fertility, no big deal", oh really? You're making me wait ANOTHER CYCLE to find out the correct results, sure, no big deal!!!

They are really pissing me off! So good thing that you have some dependable staff at your hospital!

Its great that you got such a lovely nurse i think that can make such a difference to how we feel about things, glad your gonna be getting some answers soon hope its something easy to treat.keep us updated.

i'm glad you're on your journey for answers and hopefully a successful pregnancy x

Im so glad your getting the help you need.

I've finally recieved my appointment for gyne which luckily is on the 28th of this month. The hospital they have given me is quite a distance but im willing to take anything right now. I hope i get my answers soon but i know it will take time.

xx

So glad your getting your answers! And to be confident in the Nurse working to help you makes a great difference! Im hoping you have all your questions answered and a healthy pregnancy to follow. Good luck

So Pleased for you Omi, sounds same as what my doctor thinks about my blood although mine pregnancies have'nt ended at the same time.

But she told me that I dont have to stop TTC!!!

It seems that you will get your results back before mine, I go back in March for my results.

wishing you the best of luck Sxx

I know what you mean Tracie. I think coupled with my history, mine and my family, was why she suspected it. However, i would like to point out she was gonna do genetic testing but unfortunately OH got stuck in some train hell (he is currently writing very angry letters about it- total farce..but i digress, lol) so, as you pointed out there is no way of knowing. This is just her hunch, i guess, her expertise so to speak.

I also have Raynaud's disease which recently has been flagged up as a problem in connection with blood disorders in pg's. I also realised through the questioning, my problems probably stems from my dad. And i was quite surprised i didnt cotton on to this on my own as i have read up so much on this...Just goes to show you need a proffesionals sometimes, lol!

Ive always i known i would have a baby somehow- however, this has made me actually think i might have the hope of going full term next time as opposed to last time when i was quote reticent about the whole thing- knowing very well it could end in tears which it did. Im not saying im out of any danger but i feel more hopeful than i have in a long time that i can actually have a healthy baby and go full term

She did say if all the tests come back negative we'd do the genetic tests then, so i know very much what you mean! :) But FX, eh?

Thanks everyone, i cannot tell you have blessed i feel...as some of you pointed out its nice to find someone knowledgeble and supportive. I am lucky!!! And i know it....

, OMi xxx

ps, lucky you Sarah..i guess ive felt a bit between a rock and a hard place about the ttc, but then i thought if i have another mc i would waste even more time than i am waiting for these results and feb is nothing..i know most wait much longer than that!!! Again - i feel very lucky..... :)

Omi, that really does sound positive and also like you have a few unanswered questions finally dealt with. A problem with a solution ... my theory in life and I love it.

I'm so pleased for you and I too look forward to your future BFP. :hugs:
