I'm only 23 weeks and my bump is small yet my lower back is killing me. If I am up and moving about for a few hours, later I will barely be able to move! The pain is focused in the very lower part of my back (tailbone area) and also over my pubic bone in the front. Is this normal? It even is sore when I am relaxing... Anything I can do?

Sorry you are struggling with this. I used to have back problems that seemed to disappear a few years ago however I'm starting to feel the familiar twinges in my lower back again. Last week I went for a 'Mums to be' massage which helped a lot, I'm booked in again for end of next week (they recommended no more than every two weeks). They have a special massage chair in which you face forward and rest head in a soft pad. The bump is comfy and its very relaxing. Maybe you could fine something similar local to you? Hope you feel better soon X

Yes, I can totally relate.... I've had a spinal fusion, but this pain is reminding me of how I felt before and after surgery. The key is to keep low impact exercises going as the more you lay down, the worse the pain gets. Heat is always helpful and tylenol. You can also google exercises for that and see if there are any. The feeling is no fun.

Hot water bottles are the way forward! I have the exact same pain in lower back and did in my last pregnancy. Someone I know has heated car seats which help ( how I wish I had a posh car with heated seats...! )

Go on youtube and find pregnancy core/ab workouts. The stronger your abdominals are, the less it pulls on your lower back.

I had physio for this last preg. I was told to do pelvic floor exercises and pelvic tilts. Also change the way you pull yourself up, I had to roll on one side and pull to sitting like that. Basically don't put major pressure on your back and abs.

Honestly all these things helped, but ultimately it just went away after giving birth. I have the same problem this time too, but i'm really resting as best I can, and accepting more help.
