Bad Pain in vagina at 18 weeks

Hello i am having bad pain in my vagina every 5 mins or so and its been like this for a couple days now and i have bad cramps and an ultrasound i had done a week ago showed that i was having a contraction. and im having other labor signs and called a doc but they just said it should be ok??? what do i do i dont feel right just sitting here when there is something wrong.. also having a thick not clear mucus
