To all the old members out there who know who i am, sorry it took so long
Bailey Thomas was born on the 24th of December 2008 at 1129am..
i went in to get induced on the 23rd and had repeats of gel 6 times throughout the day and night. by the next morning i thought i was dying, it just felt like constant pain and i was getting no where. my cervix wasnt even soft, boy was i pissed off...so at 9 am the big doctor guy came in and had a feel of my tummy because of the lack of movement i had, his heatbeat was fine but i had absolutely no movement...they proded and poked me for awhile and for over an hour had no change... by then they gave me no option, 'we're having an emergency c-section' they told me, i nearly had a heart attack..within 15 minutes i was ready for surgery and the guys came and got me and we headed upstairs...i had a spinal block and my baby was out and crying within 12 minutes... they checked him over and then brought him to me...he was so beautiful...
he was a little small at 6lbs but was absolutely beautiful.. that night was the most precious time ...untill the next day, the 25th..christmas
it was just before lunch and i was burping him after breast feeding...my mum and her husband were there with me and he started to turn blue.. he couldnt breathe or he was just lazy and chose not to, we still dont know to this day...
i pressed my emergency button and so many people came running, they took him away and administered cpr, he recovered and was in special care for almost 2 weeks (with me staying in with him the whole time) and turned blue another 3 times.. he has had brain scans and heart scans, a lumbar puncture and still no cause for it..they put it down to stress from the birth and laziness...
so he was discharged with a respitory monitor that is attached to him 24/7..i take it with me if we go out etc, you get used to carrying it around after awhile... (i often get comments on the street, 'do you know theres a cable hanging from your baby?', lol very awkward)
since being home he has done it a further 2 times, with me giving him cpr once... he had his immunisations at 8 weeks and we spend the night up at hospital for observation, but he was fine..
we are hoping he gets the monitor off this week sometime, which will be a big relief but also nerve racking at the same time...
he is such a good baby...no reflux, no crying, sleeps thru the night..no one would know the problem if you couldnt see the monitor...
i love him so much..
here are some pics..
