Hi all, I'm writing this on behalf of my SIL.
She is 21 weeks pregnant and on her 20 week scan was refferred to a specialist with her lil baby girl showing some brain abnormalities.
She met with the consultant on Thursday who showed that baby has both the lemon and the banana markers on her brain but there is absolutely no problems with her spine. Her spine is perfect.
The lemon marker we know can dissapear but usually the banana marker is a direct sign of spina bifida, but seeing as her spine is perfect they cannot advise what is wrong with her lil girl.
They want to perform an MRI to look in to it more but are a lil reluctant to do until 28 weeks. Although they are going to try and pull this forward.
Has anyone ever heard of this before?
