Hi Mummies!

I'm trying to save money so that i can afford to take 8 months off when our little one is born in early Jan (i'm a teacher and would prefer to go back in September so i can settle back in with new classes) and have been on the look out for bargain baby buys to help stretch the cash! I bought a great second hand changing table from a seller on ebay today for £10 and was super proud as i wasn't going to buy one and then couldn't resist the bargain!

What have you bought at an amazing price?!

xXx

Well nothing for the baby, but I got a fab pair of navy maternity trousers from Jojo Maman Bebe today, reduced from £40 to £5! Made my day!

I do love a bargain!

I got a preloved crib on Saturday for 40 euros I threw out the mattress and bedding but ill buy new a mattress for the baby, I got 2 snowsuits too :) bought those new for 12.99 and 25 euros :)

My favourite thing wasn't cheap but it's a 3 in 1 and was half price. It's a moses basket that turns into a vibrating bouncer and when baby is a bit older turns into a multipurpose seat, it cost £56 but the bouncers we were looking at were in the 50 region and saves me having to get a different thing to sleep in for downstairs plus it's perfect to take to families for sleeping, feeding and soothing all in one

Other than that iv been given pretty much everything else, In fact that was bought for me too. Iv spent about £60 and only need to get a few more bits, although I'm sure they will come up to enough and it will cost me enough once bubs is here

We did a lot of shopping online to save money. Got Our Crib on Wayfair.Com. Save over 50% on our crib. Bought our travel systems on Amazon.com for a little over $100. Saw it in store for over $200. Only thing that I don't like about shopping online is not being able to test everything out. But went to Walmart and played around with the travel system loved it.

I got a 6 month old silvercross surf with the carseat and all accessories for 170.00, the lady only had it 6 months and cost her 740.00.

Half of it is still on original wrappers, she got bought a different pram she liked by her parents so I got a bargain!

Just bought our crib yesterday on sale for $127! I was very pleased with myself :)

I've got pretty much all his clothes up to 9 months and I've spent less then $50! I got lots of clothes at bargain prices (used but in excellent shape).

Also got a moby for $30

Overall I am pretty pleased with myself so far :)

i need two of everything and the cost is scary when i look at it as a whole.... so i just buy a couple of bits at a time!

Mothercare had their own brand car seat usual price £70.... in the sale for £30 so bought the 2 for less than one would have cost! They are nothing fancy but will do the job for the first 6 or so months when we can upgrade them :)

My nephew's bought the babies a teddy each so i took a pic of them in the car seats - next one will have real babies in them eeek!

Shells I got the same car seat as a stop gap and spare too, looks better than the one that came with ds travel system xx

The ones i would have loved were around £150 each, i just can't justify it, nothing wrong with those, comfy, simple and have little hoods at the back too :)

OOOOoooohhh this is my favorite thread!!!

Ebay
-My entire cloth diaper stash was bought for less than $100 (second hand but all name brand and high quality!)
-Brand new organic crib mattresses (less than $100 for both as opposed to $160 for each one)
-Brand new Lambs and Ivy bedding, found the entire set of Hoot for $80, still keeping my eye out for Echo so they're not matching but do coordinate somewhat

Garage sales, fb sell/swap sites
-Loads of clothes (I seriously have totes upon totes full and I don't think I've spent more $50 total)
-Contours lt tandem stroller, used just once for $150 (vs $260ish online + shipping)
-Brand new free bottles (Dr. Brown!)
-Arms Reach Co-Sleeper (used only a handful of times and looks new - was only $20!)
-Found a dresser for free locally, sanded it down and painted the drawer fronts - it's adorable and only cost me a tiny can of paint!

We get both of our carseats free from our delivering hospital :flower:

I have loads of other stuff I saved on but those are my biggies!!!

Love this thread! I love searching for a good bargain, between thrift and consignment shops and other online shopping/apps on my phone for people selling things locally I find it easy to go overboard.

Changing table $40
Bassinet $30
Clothing items from thrift & consignment shops, losing of money spent though lol
Glider rocker $5
Bedding set $30

Today I'm going to go peak at a stroller frame that will work with the car seat DH and I want and she's selling it for $25 so fingers crossed it works out.

I haven't done much baby shopping yet. I have a nephew who will be 17 months when the baby is born, so I have to sit down with my brother and SIL to find out what I'll be getting from them as hand me downs or buying from them. But I did get 11 pairs of maternity pants for $30 on a local garage sale facebook page, and I was pretty excited about that! I found a really cute maternity swimsuit for $30 at the Motherhood outlet, too, which will be great for our cruise in late October. I can't even find cute non-maternity swimsuits for $30!
