What do you call it?

It's a barm cake for me!! - tea cakes have currents in! Me and OH have this all the time, he calls it a tea cake!

Yep it's a roll!

A tea cake is definately of the currently variety!

roll here but people do call them teacakes and the fruit teacakes for the ones with fruit in

Bap or roll, depending on how big it is.

As far as I know balm cake is only used in a very small part of the North.

In most of the country Tea Cakes contain curants/raisin and are frequently toasted. Think hot cross bun without the cross.

Bread cake is a Yorkshire thing, and up here theres something called Stotty's which I think are really really big baps, but not being native I'm not sure.

I also call it a bap some times, but it's anything BUT a tea cake for me :haha:

Bun! Though I will also accept bread roll

A barm cake. It's not a tea cake as I can't see any fruit in it. xxx

Its a tea cake!!

Currant tea cakes are the same but with currants in ( obviously) lol

Yep it's a roll to me too, or to stretch it, a bun! i've never heard it called either a barm or tea cake, to me, a tea cake would be something with fruit it.
