Me again! I've been temping this cycle as I'm not sure if I'm ovulating after coming off the pill. I use a Vicks digital thermometer orally and my temps are either 36.4oC or 36.5oC this cycle (currently CD28) What level of a rise do I need to see in order to have ovulated?? For some reason I thought it would be a massive shift in temp and as I am still only either of those temps I'm convinced I'm not ovulating!

I've got alot of BBT questions myself. I am new to charting mine and look at alot of charts. Some of them have an abrupt change in temp and some are subtle. I know that isn't the greatest answer, but I will try to research it as well.

Mine this month went up from 96.8 to 97.05, so not a real big jump. This is my first month temping regularly, but I think that is pretty normal. Do you use a bbt thermometer?

It's all so confusing, even when it's written plain and straight. I use a digital thermometer under my tongue, I don't think it's specifically a basal one, what's the actual difference??

I've attached my chart so far and nothing stands out at me?! Have I ovulated or not?!

You should see a temp shift up and its normally at least three in a row according to fertility friend. I suppose this is to rule out fluctuating/incorrect temps.

For me, it goes up half a degree when I ovulate, and it usually stays up for 4-5 days, then slowly comes down until AF shows up. It doesn't have a to be a huge jump, but enough for you to see it clearly on your chart. Charting can be confusing, but as 291 suggest, go to fertilityfriend.com and take their lessons on charting. Good luck!! <3

A basal body temperature thermometer measures your temp to the hundredth instead of the tenth I believe. So like your temp on a bbt would show 97.26 instead of just 97.2. You can just see a more specific change.
