does anyone know if you can still find those very basic baby monitors that you would plug on at either side? something like a microphone in a way...sorry I am not explaining myself very well lol
I have a 4 year old and I am concerned I might not always hear him when he calls me. I could use my old baby monitor but it would take a lot of batteries to keep it on all night, and I seem to remember there was something you could just plug in
Thanks!

We have these monitors which do exactly what you are looking for

The great thing about them is that being digital the receiver only plays sound when movement is detected so no annoying listening to fuzz all night long

I'm not really sure if this is what you're asking about, but we have one of the basic Tomy ones. It doesn't use batteries. You plug the base into the wall and then the handset is chargeable (you can charge it in the wall so you can walk around with it, but if we leave it on overnight, we plug it in so it doesn't run out of charge and beep annoyingly!). It's just sound and temperature. I just got a new one maybe 6 months ago because our other one (same one) broke. We still use it with our 3 year old.

yes, this is the one I meant, thanks.
Can you still buy them?

If you have a look on amazon, they have loads of different baby monitors on there :)

We have a Motorola one. Cost about twenty quid. Works fine. Got it to replace our Angel care one which stopped working properly.
