I have been told by my Dr to use only OPK. I have been reading to use both OPK and BBT. DH says to just tell him the days needed to BD and he'll go along and DTD which kinda makes me think to ditch the BBT. So do I ditch the BBT and just use OPK? Ditch OPK and ditch BBT? Or don't ditch either? All opinions and responses greatly appreciated.

I'd use both. I have gotten false positives with the digi opks which made me time BD wrong. Had I not also been testing with wondfo opks and taking my bbt I never would have known that the digis were failing me. The opks basically can predict o and the bbt will confirm it happened. Also your lh surge can happen fast and not last long with some people so it's possible to miss it if you didn't take your test right when it happened, in which case the bbt could serve as a backup for you knowing that o did occur

I use both. OPKs can't be reliable. They are useful in predicting O but temping will confirm. Temping can be a pain but it helped provide the data to prove I wasn't ovulating on my own. It also helped me confirm, along with a 7dpo progesterone draw, that Clomid is working to help me ovulate. I know not all docs understand temping but I think its really weird that your doctor told you not to bother.

I think it's good to use both, even though both can be unreliable some months! The OPK should tell you that you're going to ovulate soon, but the bbt is the only way to know that you did indeed ovulate. So they each serve a different purpose.

If you don't want to bbt the whole month you could probably start around 5-6 days before you expect to ovulate and continue until you see a sustained temp rise for 3 days and then stop temping.

I'm scared to ditch both...but I'm starting to get cycle tracking fatigue! If I do take a break from charting I will probably BD every other day from day 8-16, maybe throw in an extra BD if I have a really fertile CM day or O pain. (I normally O on CD14).
