lyssa will currently only sleep in a gro-bag
i dont know what to do- will she grow out of this when she's ready.
i tried CIO for her nap earlier, 20 mins later she was still crying and i can't leave her any longer i just can't do it.
i dont know what we'll do in the summer if she wont sleep without it?
any advice would be great
although im not willing to leave her longer than that to CIO- as she has a heart condition and that's really just not good for her

There are gro bags avaialble up to 3 years old and there are also gro bags for summer time 0.5 togs, why you are even considering cio to wean her off the gro bag??!! especially if she has a heart condition, please dont let her cry unecessarily
I am very anti cio for any reason. Crying it out its not really a solution to anything, but I really cant see the problem here, unless if I am not reading correclty your post?

Must admit, I am also confused as to why you would CIO over a gro bag....

I'm sure she'll want Big Girl bedclothes when she's good and ready. Rowan was a little older than your LO is now when we went for regular bedclothes - I'd been keeping her in the sleeping bag because she wriggled around the cot so, but then I saw her playing on Grandma's bed, getting under the covers and saying "Night-night!" and realised that she knew what covers were for and might actually like proper bedclothes of her own. She's actually been better about going to bed since we've been using them: I put her in and she instructs me "Tuck a baby in!"

What fluxuspoem said.
You can get nice 0.5 tog bags in John Lewis, we've got one in 18-36 months and when it's been very hot Ruby has just worn that and a nappy.

ok well now i feel awful bout cio.
we left her cos she's outgrown the one we have and i didnt know they made them any bigger, in the end i stuffed her in the one we have and left the zip open at the bottom- same as ive done tonight
thanks for the info though- i'm looking and ordering now.

big thanks

sorry i missed out the part that she'd outgrown the 18 month one we have.

edited to add- i think i may have done controlled crying? i was going in every 3 mins and soothing her, until she was calm and then leaving again? -- i still feel like a hideous mother but can anyone confirm which method i tried?

Don't think that's exactly CIO if you were going in every 3 minutes, Doesn't make you a hideous Mother!! But don't stress over the Gro-bags, you don't HAVE to stop using them - Charlie's still in his and will be until I can't get them in his size any more :flower:

thanks hun
i feel awful, but she's ok now and thats what counts.
she's sleeping with her feet out tonight, but i have her new ones ordered on next day delivery so hopefully they'll be with us soon x

Aw, I'm sure she (and you) will be fine :flower::flower:

thanks hun.
sorry i think i over reacted, it was a bad day to read the replies at the top, although i completely agree that i didnt explain myself very well and get that i over-reacted.
at the end of the day lyssa knows she's loved and tomorrow she'll be the brand new and rather happy owner of a 18-36 month sleeping bag, and i can stop sticking tights on her since i cant do up the bottom of the bag!

This is also an idea - if you can find brands over there that have the feet like these - Megan uses this brand & it she has issues w/ outgrowing length first on things so these are perfect as her feet can stick out. She wears size Large right now which is 12-18months and her feet are typically still inside the leg holes so she has quite a bit of time on this size (she is about 32" long)

oooh i'll have a look- i saw something similar but no where near as nice as that!

I have some in fleece & some that are a mesh type which I use for naps atm - which will be very breatheable for summer weather. They also have plain cotton I believe.
