Hi all,

Had my 32 week consultant appointment today. My hips are still really bad due to the arthritis. I was going to elect for a section, but since I've had two natural labours, the consultant would prefer I tried a 3rd natural labour, but be induced at 37 weeks so that I didn't have to go to 40-42 weeks in the pain I'm in and of course, have a slightly smaller baby.

I have protein in my urine, so that has to be sent away to be tested further, but they don't seem worried.

Baby is measuring 33cm, which is fine, has been measuring bigger all way through.

Anyone been induced at 37 weeks? How long did you have to stay in hospital?

Hi Becky, I think I am being induced at 38 weeks due to the High Blood Pressure and protein in my urine. I would be interested to know the answer to this also :o) xx

No advice but it sounds like the best plan for you :hugs: I'm pretty sure baby wont need any (or if he does, very little) help in any form. i think at that sort of gestation they only sometimes have issues with a little jaundice and sometimes with feeding and maintaining their temp.

Sorry to hear your in pain :hugs:
37 weeks is full term, so baby will be fine.
Good luck.
xx

I am in the US so it may be different, but I was induced with my daughter at 34 weeks due to pre-eclampsia and reduced movement. They started around noon one day and I had her about 24 hours later. She was 5 pounds 12 ounces and we were discharged from the hospital two days later. They would have discharged me after one, but they let me stay an extra day because they wanted to keep her an extra day because she was premature.

Good luck!! :hugs:

I am being inducedd this pregnancy at 37 weeks, are they making you have amnio?? They hav to here now I guess.. but Anywho, I was induced at 37 and 38 weeks with my previous three and it wasnt bad. It was actually quick although epidural never worked... I guess that has nothing to do with induction though. I would prefer to be induced only because Ive never gone on my own wouldnt even know what to expect lol.

I was induced at 37 weeks with my first due to a spike in my blood pressure. The induction didn't work and I ended up with a c-section. I was in hard labor for about 24 hours but wasn't dilating and no pain medication worked. My son was 6 lb12 oz, but had breathing problems. He was in the NICU for about a week because of those problems and then we brought him home and he started breathing much too rapidly again and turning blue. We took him to the ER and he was admitted back to the NICU (into an isolation room since he'd been discharged once) and stayed for another 4-5 days.

He's a very healthy, active 3 year old now!

Hey Beckyboo,
I just found out today, that on Monday (when I am 37 weeks)...I will probably be induced also. I just wanted you to know that I think everything will work out fine. During my 1st pregnancy, my water broke at 38 weeks and I was induced to start labor. Wasnt bad at all. I came to hospital at 12 pm and had baby next day at 1pm exactly. Release 3 days later. I know that is a week later than 37 but I think you will be fine. Keeping you in my prayers.

Hey! I'm being induced at 37 weeks! I'm really looking forward to it! I like the idea of knowing when she is gonna come and not having to wait to see if I go over 40 weeks. :)

I went into my 36 week appointment and was told I was 6 cm and had an hour to get my affairs in order and check into the hospital. It was my second c-section and I delivered a perfectly healthy baby girl. You'll do fine and your baby will be perfect. Congrats and positive thoughts your way :hugs:

I was induced at 35 weeks with twins and we went home after 3 days,we stayed in because it was easter holidays and they didnt have enough community mw to visit us incase we needed them because they were premmies. They didn't need any help at all and were breastfed soon after birth x

im am being induced tonight and i am 37 weeks and 2 days

With my second son my water broke on its own at 38 weeks and he was fine. I don't think 37 weeks is even considered premature. All the best :hugs:

my son was induced at 36 weeks due to me leaking water. they started at 8a.m and he was born at 345 p.m he was 6 lbs 9oz and very healthy. and 48 hours later we went home. he was little jaundice but that went away a couple days later. good luck sweetie.
