being pregnant and lazy

I just cooked my own dinner (only because OH is away for the night).

Could I please have a round of applause for my efforts.

Well done! :hugs:
I walked the dog round the block! Washed the dishes and will be boiling some water for fresh pasta in a little while. Check me out! :winkwink:

I walked the dog too and I got over the farm gate without OH to help me. How I ever found the energy to cook my dinner too is beyond me.

That man had better pull his finger out when he comes home tomorrow I can tell you.

i bow to your domestic goddessness ladies...

im about to shove (quite literally) a frozen pizza in the oven. might even find the energy to unwrap some garlic bread too!

You climbed a farm gate, good lord woman, what were you thinking?! At the very least you should have demanded that your OH figured out a way to have it opened ready in advance for you in the knowledge you would be out with the dog. I'd expect nothing less of my OH.

Speaking of sandwiches..........I'm going to get my lazy ass off this couch and go to my mom's car where she will drive me to buy me a sandwich!!! I am so lazy I can't even bring myself to dig into my pocket for my debit card!!! My laziness has no boundaries!!!!!!!

I would just like to say that i am not being lazy...

I am holding my husband to the terms of our contract...

he waits on me hand and foot, catering to my every whim, and in return i let him have sex with me once a year!

I'm fiercely independent but am not going to be made to feel bad for asking my OH to make me a cup of tea, or take my dog-walking coat from the garage and put it on the radiator to heat up whilst I drink said cup of tea because I want to feel a bit special for a while, because we both know that it will be me doing ALL of the 'manual labour' when LO is here and I'm not working and it will be ME that does all the childcare and chores etc in ADDITION to working full time again when that time comes.

It's a few weeks of my life to be looked after a little, before the mayhem begins, and does not make me lazy.

Some OH's (and mothers and sisters etc etc) think of their partners as very precious when they are expecting and do pander to them and perhaps advantage is taken, but seriously, why the heck not??

I agree with Bellablue, sounds to me like you're a little bit jealous to be this bothered about it :winkwink:

Not jealous at all. i know for a fact if i told oh to do something he would. but im saying i am more than capalbe of doing it so why should he be treated like a servant?

men (although a lesser species lol) do have feelings too and by using them (for want of a better word) shouldnt be justified by the fact im giving birth.

yes in a relationdhip its always nice to run baths etc for each other but thats a mutual thing cuz one of you has had a bad day but just cuz were pregnant doenst mean they dont have bad days

WHOA. I was going to finish reading all the posts before replying, but I have to stop here. I sincerely hope you were joking with the bolded statement above, and that you never even imply such sentiments to your partner. I realize this point is completely off track from the thread, but I find it extremely unproductive and offensive when I see this type of thought towards men. If you have a son, will you think of him this way, even jokingly? Will you want his wife condescending to him? Does your OH deserve this? How demeaning. OK I will stop now as this is slightly off-topic.

As to your original points, I really don't see why you should worry about what other women do while they're pregnant (barring self-destructive or dangerous behaviour, of course). If you have a problem with your friend, you should first examine your reasons. Are you jealous? Do you secretly wish you weren't martyring yourself? Do you have some other issue with her? Because otherwise, why the heck do you care if she's being "lazy"? Second, you need to remember that you are not in her body, and you have no idea how she actually feels. Maybe she is actually TIRED? Third, I've not read the other posts that you seem to be referring to here, but again it goes back to letting other women be. If women here are doing/saying things that bother you, you should ask yourself why? Why can't the women here be pregnant and live their lives without being judged? Maybe they are in pain, tired, sick, whatever. But regardless of if they are or not, it's nobody's business to judge. That's all. :flower:

PMSL!!!:haha:

ive just been pampered after dry retching for 5 mins, laying down while husband soothes me by playing with my hair!!!

I didn't realise I was lazy for spending at least 2 hours a day travelling to and from work, a half hour walk on top of that and an 8 hour shift with one half hour break. I come home and ask DH to cook dinner, as he has a 2 min walk to work from home each day. He enjoys it, and I can take care of any paperwork, planning our house move and catching up with emails etc.

Why should women do everything?? Forget being pregnant - I'm not DH's mother and I will not run around doing everything while he sits on his butt!

ladies. silence please ....

I have just ..... *gasp* showered myself ...... I can't quite belive how empowered I feel after this monumentous task. I may even have the strength and will to make myself AND my husband a cup of tea ...

It is a proud day for pregnant womankind
