I had an unplanned c-section a month a ago and my belly is hanging over my scar. Is this normal? If so, does it go away and WHEN? It looks so awful!!:nope:

unfortunatly it is normal for me. But I also need to lose a hundred pounds. I don't think it was quite as pronounced with my first when I was more in shape.

I am quite slim and had a EMCS with my little boy. I didn't have overhang but I did have a lump that stuck out then came back in where they stitched me up (I hope that makes sense) anyway this does go. I kept asking the doctors at the check ups if it would go down. You have had major surgery (and only a month ago) but in time when everything inside shrinks and the swelling from surgery goes down this should go.. x

I had an over hang after my section, it has almost gone away & I hate it too!

I would also like to know. I got pregnant 3 months after c sections and my pregnant belly just looks so low. I can already imagine it hanging over my scar after the second birth it really hangs low........ and I can see a line like its going to hang over my scar if you know what I mean... My breasts got very big with my first pregnancy and they were very nice and firm before that. Now i can see a lot of excess skin.. so i guess my skin doesnt just bounce back... will this be the same with my tummy????????????????? ohhhhhhhhhhhh

That early on is more than normal. Your body is swollen still and depending on your figure and weight, it will look different. I was overweight before pregnancy and still am so for me, I have what I dearly call a kangaroo pouch. I have been working out and although I can tell I have lost inches around my lower abdomen, the center, right above the scar is VERY overhung. For me, unfortunately, I have really bad skin elasticity (hello stretch marks galore!) so it very well could also depend on skin type.

I had an emcs as well and this far down the line i can say that it has definately improved but i still have what i would describe as a 'step' above my scar.

This wont be helped by the fact im carrying a couple of extra pounds but once i shift them im hoping it will almost totally disappear!:flower:

I believe the delightful name for it is a mother's apron :s I had one from my previous emcs that over time reduced way down but never went fully away.everyone is different though. I eventually got used to tucking my tiny apron into my pants and you wouldn't even have noticed it lol x
