Hi,

I'm just wondering if any of you know if we would be entitled to claim anything.

I am out of work, I quit my job in July due to depression and anxiety, I walked out as they were making it very hard for me to stay. My DH is working his last week, he is being made redundant, he has applied for jobs but has nothing lined up, he hopes to get temp work in the meantime. I would like to get a part-time job and have applied for about 10 but have not had any luck so far, I do not want many hours though as the depression and anxiety teamed with my OCD and constant tiredness, makes it very hard to work.

Thanks for reading.

Have you looked at ESA (employment support allowance)? Its for people who are ill (mentally and phsyically) and they are either too ill to work or trying to get back to work. You should be entitled to that but you may have to get sick notes from your doctor. xxx

Sadly because you quite you are not entitled to anything but your OH may be entitled to ESA or he could claim Job Seekers possibly as a couple.

Call them, its a free phone number.

Can't hurt to ask.

You won't be entitled to JSA as you quit your job, and were not fired, but your OH may be entitled. If you go to the jobcentre/call them, you could find out if he is entitled, and what for :hugs: xx

if there is JUSTIFIABLE reason for you quitting you will not have to wait and should be able to get esa but if they dont think your reasons are good enough they can make you wait 6 months before allowing a claim to go through xx hth xx
