Can someone please help me out by telling me what I will be entitled to when baby comes? I know my maternity pay is smp but I don't know about child benefits or if we are entitled to anything else? I believe we are classed as 'low income' but only just. Really worried about how we'll cope when he gets here...

possible income support?? and you could phone about the maternity grant see if you're elegible?

I'm worried about it all too I phoned the DWP today and they said I'd get MA but they dont know I workled for a company for just shy of 2 years before coming pregnant, went on the sick due to pregnancy and then got made redundant, I dont know if I'm entitled to extra??

try put your income into entitledto.com, but Pretend lo was born this year and use your SMP annual wage to calculate not this years income.

there isnt any extra in terms of smp or ma. They re not bothered how long you worked for as long as you meet the eligibility criteria of 26 out of 66 weeks.

Once baby is born you'll be entitled to child benefit which everyone gets on low income and thats about £80 a month for one child and you should be entitled to child/working tax credit if u or your partner work, if u go on their website (tax credits) there's an online calculator which gives u a rough idea of what u will be entitled to xx

You should be entitled to Income Support, Child Tax Credit, Child Benefit and also Housing Benefit to help with your rent or mortgage interest payments.

if you or your partner are working you will get working tax credit and also child tax credit.. We get 105 a week for our 1st and we get 20 a week child benefit :) it really does help loads! We didn't even think there was any money wed get 1st time around and we were made up to find tax credits backdated 3 months and a lovely 1500 went into my bank! Was great! xxxx
