Best Cupcake Recipe?

I'm making cupcakes for a friends little boy on friday and I'm just wondering what everyones favorite cupcake was for just a vanilla cupcake (large ones)
I've made them before but I've lost my recipe book so looking for a tried and tested one!

I've got the hummingbird book and the primrose bakery one but the reviews are so touch and go on the vanilla cupcakes that I dont want to risk trying them if there's a chance that they may come out stodgy.

8oz self raising flour, 8oz butter (room temp), 8oz caster sugar, teaspoon vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of milk, 4 eggs.. Makes yummy cupcakes.. I use the same recipe for cakes too..
I have 23 to make on Tuesday for OH birthday! I can get 18 large ones out of that mixture.
