Ok ladies - What positions have you found to be the best and most enjoyable for YOU? DH obviously loves any position when he can get it. But I am so uncomfortable most of the time. It either feels like he is hitting everything causing a lot of pressure, or I'm trying to hold myself up so I'm not smashing my stomach... it's so annoying!!!

So, which ways have you found to be the best??

It's starting to get to that stage now where any kind of bending over is uncomfortable and feels like it's smushing the belly... There was a period where my morning sickness was gone and my belly wasn't popping out and it was amazing! Now I find most positions are uncomfortable. I don't really like doggy style anymore cos it feels like there's not enough room in there for his willy as well as the baby lol. Try lying on your side with your back to him and have him come in from behind. It penetrates a lot shallower so you don't feel like he's hitting your uterus lol.

Yep, agree. side laying with him behind works for us too. Not as uncomfortable for my belly. Or try sitting on edge of bed and lean on bed while hubby kneels or stands.

I tried on the side with him behind, but my sciatic nerve is pinched, so it takes a lot of time to get in a position that I can actually take. Plus it felt like my hips were going to explode. lol Poor guy, we'll figure out something!!! I might just have to be in pain to be able to have sex!

I dont find any sex really comfortable anymore, in fact, I kinda just wanna get it over with! Hubby was on top last night and it was soooo uncomfortable, I kept having to push him off...will be stalking this thread

Pardon me, but how did you manage him on top? I thought we are supposed to avoid any position where we are on our back(from the second trimester onwards). or did I get it wrong? I can't actually lie on my back without feeling discomfort ,let alone have someone on top.

doggy style, side does not feel good. the baby is so low it hurts

Doggy style was mine! I always put a pillow under my bump too to give me support.
I couldnt lay on my back cause around week 28 it was so heavy I couldnt breath and it put alot of pressure on me plus it got in the way!

Side by side or missionary are the 2 recommended positions!

I make a big pile of pillows and flop onto it, nestling my belly in between pillows till I'm comfy. Sort of like doggy but I'm not having to use hands/knees to support myself and my belly is super cushioned.

Reverse cowgirl is good cause you can control the depth/angle and if his legs are apart you can lean forward with room for your tummy.

Spooning is ok but I find the angle feels wrong sometimes, like it's hitting something in there.

Sometimes penetration just doesn't feel good at all so I'm lucky OH is just as happy to do other things and mutual masturbation is a good lazy plan-B or if I am not interested then just help him do his thing:blush:

can I submit this anonymously?;)

Lol some of you ladies made me laugh. I find sex isn't that comfortable for me either lately, I used to love doggy style, hate it now because it just feels like he's going to deep. We do the spooning position a lot but sometimes he hits weird angles and it DOES NOT feel good. Hmmm, we've pretty much given up with him on top, I was always finding myself with my hands pushing on his stomach so he doesn't squish my belly. One that we do still do that is still comfortable is me sitting on the edge of the bed or couch and him kneeling in front of me. That's still a good one. Haha. And I just can't be bothered being on top anymore, too lazy. Lol.

I'm exactly the same as you!

The only position my DH likes is him on top. Which I'm finding really painful now.. however hes got a low sex drive so he hasn't been pushing it at all :haha:

When you have scans or the midwife feels your bump etc I'm guessing you lie on your back - it mustn't be an issue for certain lengths of time.

I thought just sleeping on your back was an issue? X

being on your back is fine unless you start to feel faint or breathless - that's the sign that your uterus is squashing your blood supply. so a bit of missionary isn't going to do anyone any harm unless you feel uncomfortable. i start to feel funny lying still on my back for longer than about half an hour so have been trying to sleep on my side. but even so i wake up on my back sometimes. don't stress about it, your body will tell you what to do! i'm still loving missionary, and every other position dh is up for, i just get frustrated that i'm not as agile any more, it takes me about half an hour to change positions and it sure aint elegant!

I find being on my side with a pillow propped under my tummy and the 'top' leg up against his shoulder to be the best position... its "sort of" like missionary for him only 100x more comfortable for me.

We WERE doing missionary this past weekend except my OH was drunk and so he started to 'belly slam' me and so I went on top .... on top is another position I'm finding enjoyable lately.

I'm so glad I started this thread! lol There will definitely be some experimenting coming up.

Hmm, off the side of the bed. On my back with him standing up.

Also did doggy off the side of the bed for the first time since getting pregnant and WOW. Felt amazing.
We're both standing and I bend over and rest my body on the bed. Comfy so far, but def not with him on top any longer. That got uncomfy very early on.

We've found a position that works good for us, but with the use of lots of pillows! I'm kind of sitting up/laying down at a 45 deg angle on the pillows while OH is in front of me sitting down on his knees. It gives us both space and he's not hovering over me squashing belly or boobies. I can kind of put my feet down behind him to help move around and support myself. So far the spoon has worked good, and for a while regular cowgirl worked good, but I feel like I'm jiggling bubby too much when bouncing up top

^^ we tried this last night too, great! and very comfy. I thought standing would be awful, too much work but it was ok and if your legs get tired you can put one or both knees up on the bed.
