So, I'm trying to get a little stash ready for bub. Nappies are expensive!!! Anyone have recommendations on supermarket "own brands" that are good?
(uk)

Thanks!!

Asda little angels ones are the best by far! Ive tried nearly every brand as my 18 month old was waking up practically every morning (and sometimes during the night) soaked right through. In my opinion huggies were the worst followed by pampers with tescos being in 2nd place to the asda ones! No more waking up with wet clothes! I know she is older but it has been happening for a while.

just to add, any are good for newborns as they dont wee very much but once baby starts drinking more juices and eating the jars of food i use the asda ones unless i cant get to asda then i settle for tescos!

Ive heard asda good but Ive also heard it depends on baby so you are probably best buying a couple of different brands and seeing which works best once baby here. x

I was thinking of switching dd2 from pampers to tescos as they are £3.50 cheaper per pack. Seems they have a good reputation so far, which is encouraging! xx

Asda are by far the best we found for our one. Morrisons were awful, stains buys we're ok, not tried Tesco yet. Aldi are very good too.

You do have to try many brands to find the one that fits right with your baby :)

i actually don't like any :( sadly they all have issues lol pampers are the best by far imho :) when the babies are a little bigger you can buy boxes of them like two for £20 which is what i do and they seem to last a long time! i don't think any nappy would of held in my 4th babies bf poop :haha:x

We're using asdas little angels range. It's the cheapest by far and all the reviews are really great for them. Xx

I have to disagree with this one. For newborns, you usually want the more expensive brands...Pampers Swaddlers or Huggies. It's not the pee you're worried about: it's the liquidy, gross, explosive poops that newborns and young infants emit. You want something that will really hold in those nasty explosions. Even the expensive ones fail at containing the ones that go up the baby's back. Lovely, huh?

Yeah thats what i meant lol, i buy the brand names for baby but once bigger i use the cheaper ones ! never worded it very good lol x

I don't live in england and aren't familiar with the store brands there... however i did want to add that i worked at a development center where i and 4 others took care of 19 babies (6weeks-18months)

Huggies was the worse when it come to containing poop. It always leaked out.

Pampers are expensive but were great... especially for the little ones. Luvs worked pretty good with the older babies and is a cheaper alternative.

I wouldn't ever buy the walmart brand. they are like cardboard and half the time the diaper tabs would fall off.. thus wasting the diaper.

Not a supermarket brand, but for the last year before my son my potty trained, I used Wilkinson's. They are SO cheap, but he never had any leaks or anything in them. They are the plastic-y type, but that never bothered him and I really just wanted something he could sleep in and go out for walks in that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg, since he took ages to potty train with all the moving around we did.

I will only use pampers or aldi's nappies and pampers sensitive wipes. I stock up on pampers stuff when on offer n aldi otherwise x x

I'm not an expert yet, but I've heard that Lidl & Aldi nappies have been rated better than Pampers.....as I said no expert tho..

Sorry but I would never put a newborn in anything but pampers. You can just feel the difference. Both Asda & tesco brought my little girl out in bad rashes even when she was 2 years old. Pampers are always on offer if you buy in bulk anyway. Only my opinion but I really think you should feel how soft the pampers feel in comparison to other brands.

For DS2 we prefer Asda's but I did win 5 packs of Aldi's and they are great too. My cousin has brought me a whole stash of nappies for the baby so once we use them up we'll be back to asda's for him.

I did find that when DS2 was little and in SCBU that huggies weren't that much cop....but boots were fab.

We only used disposables at night, but when DS was small pampers were best, but after a few months I think Asda Little angels were the best!
