When would the best time to be to buy a nursing bra? I always here that if you buy one too soon, it will be too small when babys here as my breast will start carrying the milk. But I also don't want to wait to long and then BAM! Surprise having baby early and now I don't have a nursing bra for the hospital. Any recommendations ladies?

The lady in Mothercare suggested I come back at 36/37 weeks - I think it's a bit of a guessing game - they tend to leave some room but I did it with DD and it worked out ok. xx

I'd say buy one c. 37 weeks and then wait until after the baby gets here to get more, or have some that will still be in their returns period after the baby will be here so you can swap if necessary. Last time mine swelled to an odd shape only when engorged (just a few days for me) and very quickly settled down into a plumper / heavier weight but not enough to change my shape or require me to go up a size. You can buy sleep bras which will work well for those sorer days. Do remember as well that you'll probably need to factor in breast pads. I used the boots slim ones last time and they were brilliant, but if you do use plumper ones, then you need to leave a little room for those.

This is the sort I mean (though there are cheaper versions) and they come in Small, Medium and Large rather than cup sizes: https://www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/sp+...ras-in-maternity-products-and-underwear+a9252

I bought a few at Walmart when I was around 30 weeks. But I also have not changed in size at all this pregnancy, not like I did with DS1. I just made sure I tried the bras on, and made sure it was supportive, but slightly lose so that if I do get big due to engorgement after baby is born, I have some room.

With DS1, I went from 32b prepregnancy to 38C during pregnancy, and after pregnancy I was 38D.

I've already bought two (bought them around 22-25weeks) but I have increased three cups sizes over this pregnancy so i had to buy new bras and decided that I'd go ahead and get maternity/nursing bras to have some on hand. They are comfortable, stretchy, and very flexible while still holding me in and keep ling shape. I will but buy at least two more around 35-36 weeks (even if I don't grow too much more cause I remember how much I leaked and had to wash them) I have found it is good to have at least 4 on hand in varying sizes or in flexible s/m/l types that will handle engorgement and swelling while still helping hold everything in.
for me I know I will not change too much after the first few weeks. It is important to know your body, (I know almost impossible for FTMs)
I'd talk to the ladies at the store they are usually very helpful with sizing.

It really can be a guessing game. I bought mine last pregnancy at 36/37 weeks after no major growth during my pregnancy but when my milk came in it was like... PORN STAR BOOBS!! My husband was ecstatic LOL but this pregnancy I have definitely been growing in the breast department all along so I think I might go with the s,m,l ones until I knoe for sure what is gonna happen!! Haha

I like these sleep nursing bras. They come in s/m/l sizes and are comfy

sigh even if I would want to spend the money on Destination Maternity items, none of them come in my size, and the s/m/l/xl doesn't come in my size

FTM but I plan to buy one bra at 35 weeks, my boobs haven't changed size very much then after LO is here see what the boobs decide to do before buying more bras.

In my experience I would get at least one now. If you're not huge then nursing tanks are awesome.
I went from a 32c last time up to a 34 dd or so by the end of the pregnancy. When my milk came in I was around a 34e for a month or so. But settled back to the 34dd. I stayed the same size even until now (I nursed up until 8 weeks pregnant). So I'm pretty confident that my size now will be my size after birth (maybe except the first month).
I also gave birth at 36+1 last time and had NOTHING on hand. Kept sending hubby to and fro from the stores. Because nobody seems to sell nursing bras in a 34dd! So I would shop now. I will soon myself because I know now that the bras I had were too small and I've already donated them in a bin.
