Bf How Often?

Just wondering how often your babies feed?

Alex is now 11 weeks old and she only feeds about 5 (sometimes 6) times a day. Sometimes she will feed at about 5 or 6 in the morning and not want any more until after midday! Is this OK?

I feed on demand obviously, but she is not demanding very much and I often find that I am guessing when she should be hungry and feeding her then instead of waiting for her to ask as it could be hours!

Niamh feeds every 3 hours or so, between 6/7am and 9pm. I think that works out about 6 times? She does still get a bottle before bed though.

Harry feeds about every 3 hours between 6am - 10pm so also about 6 feeds a day but he is having solids now too and we have recently dropped all the night feeds, before doing those changes it was every 2 hours day and night!!!

Alfie can somtimes go 5 hours and somtimes only 1 he sleeps through the night but between 7am and 11pm he has 8-9 feeds but he's a greedy boy when I express he can have 6 oz and want more

If you LO is gaining wait then she should be fine with the way she is feeding. I think the average amount of feeds equal out between 6-8 feeds in a 24 hour period. She just sounds like she gets a big meal when she does feed Try not to worry to much you doing great.

Sigh, if only! Savannah feeds every 2 hours, lol.

All babies are different honey so just soak it up while it lasts! So long as he seems happy enough, wees and poos and gains a little weight each week, then youre doing fab!
