BF, taking BC and still get period

Is anyone else having this issue? I got my period back exactly one month after my dude was born. It was a normal period for me (light, lasted 4 days). Three weeks later I am bleeding again, this time it is a more heavy flow. I am confused (and frustrated) because I am back on birth control and I am breastfeeding, so I shouldn't be getting a period, at least that is what everyone keeps telling me. Is it normal to have them during this time?

I stopped bleeding at five weeks...here i am at seven weeks post birth and definitely have my period

I'm not on BC but have had periods, they're a little more irregular - I don't want to use the word 'unlucky' cos we have beautiful babies but...

it's definitely normal. The same thing happened to me after my daughter was born, I was on the IUD implant and bf her until she was 13 months, and I was still like clockwork the entire time, my periods were never delayed, irregular, or stopped. It's different for everyone, and bfing doesn't mean that your periods will always stop
