does anyone know what the best carrier is to BF in, as most of you know i am trying to get my milk supply back up and so am trying to get leyley to feed lotsss, i figured the best way to do this would be to have her in a wrap for most of the day, to get the skin to skin and also so she can feed whenever she wants feeding / dummy

does anyone know which is best?

thanks :)

i brought a baby k one from mothercare, reduced from 45 to 22.50, i still have to support her with 1 hand tho
might just be me tho x

I used to nurse Brenn in a Bjorn. I would lower the straps so his mouth was nipple level, get him latched on, put a blanket over us and go. This is how I would grocery shop when he was 2-3 months old.

^^ was it easy? did he fall off much? and did you have to hold him at the same time or were u hands free?

I would have thought that a wrap sling would be easiest as it already covers everything and you can put the baby in different positions. I have one and, though I didn't feed Kaya with it, I will be feeding the next one like that.

I had the closer baby carrier and I never fed in it but I can only imagine if I did no one would've noticed x

if you want skin to skin and for long periods i would recommend a stretchy wrap - they are snuggly for baby and supportve for your back as well. and they will last until baby gets much heavier (i have carried my 2 year old in mine!) i have a moby (see www.moby.com i bought mine from www.naturalconnections.co.uk) and winter loves it. i have done s2s in it and also bf at home and out and about. because of the way the fabric is wrapped, you dont see anything and its really easy after you have done a few practices. there are groups called sling meets where people meet up and try different ones, maybe you could find your local and have a try before spending. (www.slingmeet.co.uk) i would lend you mine, but were are still snuggling in it!

thanks everyone, i already have one of those stretchy wraps but leyla doesnt really like it, think it constricts her too much :dohh: maybe i should just practice with that one before i buy another?

Oh yes, I would just put him on in the car park, get him latched, and cover and go. He didn't fall off at all until he was well sleep. Nope, totally hands free. I spent many hours grocery shopping like this, and no one ever said a word, or batted an eye.

ooh thats good, how much was it? could u do different positions or just the one?

We got an old style Baby Bjorn for £3 so you can pick them up quite cheaply. I agree about the sling meets - you'd be able to try one out and someone will be able to show you how to breastfeed in it too. At the one I went to the woman running it said it's a good idea to get breastfeeding established and be confident with sling wearing before you combine the two which makes sense but if you can do it easily without go for it! xxx

p.s. a ring sling might be good for nursing in.

I don't breastfeed BUT I just wanted to say that I think breastfeeding in a wrap/sling is such a great idea!! One of my friends uses it for when shes out and about in public and whatnot and you'd NEVER know she was BF..such a clever idea :)

well i have managed to get my wrap sorted out and she doesnt mind being in it as much, think it was just cos it was unusual, she was like erm mam...wheres my pram?? lol, i did feed her in the wrap before but i wasnt hands free, but im still practicing so hopefully will be able to do it soon :D
