BFN blood test, but with a hard uterus

Has anyone experienced a hard uterus and still had a negative blood pregnancy test result? It has been hard for over a week. There is no pain and it feels like my whole uterus is hard. The doctor sent me home without further examination because I'm having regular bm's. Also, I had light pinkish/redish bleeding for 8 days without cramps or tissue. My breasts have been tender and sore. I've been extremely tired and moody. My boyfriend has said that I've been off lately. I don't know what could be wrong with me, because most problems I've read about are accompanied by pain and othet symptoms I don't have. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!
